Bobby Knight resigned from Texas Tech so he could take the AD job at Louisiana Tech.
Unfortunately - I don't expect any movement until April or May....
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
This is an interesting hire -
Especially for the OLD GUARD in Ruston and the surrounding area who doesn't think that an AD's job is to sell tickets and increase revenue....

Bob Knight would be an interesting hire for our AD....but he'd probably only last a month due to getting into an argument with Dr. Reneau and slapping him in the face lol
a new article on this is up on www.latechreport.com
That is precisely the right man for the job!
I am sold!!!
My only concern, will he be allowed to do what needs to be done with no interference by the admin? OR will he be told not to disturb the status quo?
Plus he is married to the former Debbie Primeux, one of my all time favorite Lady Techsters...
By the way Olddog, I think our budget needs to be closer to the $24-25M range....
I agree that he is definitely the kind of person we need at the helm. I think someone like him, with Buskirk at his right hand, could really take us places. If you believe everything in his bio, he certainly has the focus we need--building revenues and building relationships with stakeholders, while maintaining all those other important things like equity compliance and the like.
I would also be very satisfied with someone from a more business-oriented sports background, as well. But if we are going to hire from within the AD ranks, I'd rather we focus on up-and-coming folks from Division I FCS programs, or senior assistant ADs with tremendous experience in big-time programs (as senior assistants). Anything less than this would be more of a gamble than I think we can afford.
With as much time as Dr. Reneau has to make this hire, there is no reason we can't get a Grand Slam with this hire. There is no reason to take the quick, cheap, or easy way out.
Buddy of mine in Thibodaux says Stan got run out of the AD job at Nicholls. Anyone know anything about this?
"Off the top of my head, I'd say you're looking at a Boesky, a Jim Brown, a Miss Daisy, two Jethros and a Leon Spinks, not to mention the biggest Ella Fitzgerald ever!"
I hope and expect that we hire someone that has SOLID experience in running a Division I-A football program. Stan has only three years of running a I-AA program and no experience in the day-to-day ongoing requirements of the job since 2000.
I would love to see someone hired from another existing I-A program, and it doesn't matter too much to me if that person is coming from a director or assistant director position.
