I will add that 4 years ago we replaced our delivery system with a new model. When that happened, we had to drop a lot of people from eligibility. That is part of the reason there is a growing number of mentally ill on the streets with no services. We can now only serve (with our general revenue from the state) the most severe of the severly ill.

I know the mental health business well, so I use that in my examples. I have worked for other types of programs in the past, though, and it is all about the same.

OK, I will shut up. It was silly of me to start posting on here. I am now in a bad mood and have to meet with some staff today that already aren't liking me too much.

I agree with you about the market but where we had the problem with Altadawgs post was he seemed gleeful that people were going to be losing money. He almost seemed excited about it and whether he meant it or not his post had socialist undertones. I 100% agree with Mildawg on this one.

I personally think it is our moral obligation to take care of the poor and needy but I think it is NOT the governments job, because that is stealing. I choose to give, but it needs to be MY choice not anyone elses what I do with MY money.

Bingo. Voluntary vs. Involuntary. Contrary to popular opinion, conservatives have HUGE hearts and are more than willing to help those in need. I just prefer that it be of my own volition and that I know where my money is going. When the government takes your money, you never know what happens to it.
