Isn't this the last year of Coach Longs contract? If so, do you think he should be resigned or let go?

We are heading into the WAC tournament right now, so I think this type of talk should wait until that is over. That is just my 2 cents.
The way this group has performed, I am not sure that any discussion on this board will have any bearing on their play.
So, in answer to the original question, let go.
Will be interesting to see what Dr. Dooley does.
Well, it was just my opinion. We played very well Saturday night. The season starts over this week. As for his contract, he has one more year on it. I will remove myself from discussing this until after we are finished playing - I hope we have a few more weeks before that. :icon_wink:
Fair enough Champ, maybe I did bring it up to soon.

It sure will. It's interesting to see what the guy who can't win more than 5 games in football can hire a decent basketball coach. I didn't realize this Dooley guy was omnipotent. I wonder if he'd be a better candidate for president than McCain??
one word for u barkinloud stfu!!! and yes, it is just one word :icon_wink:

I will hold off on further discussions of contracts or terminations until we see how we fare in our new season in the WAC tournament. Knowing our administration (except for AD Dooley entering into the equation), Coach Long knows he can control his destiny to some degree depending how we do. The inconsistency during the season is concerning but things have improved of late and anything can happen. Imagine if the guards started hitting three's (for example) and go on a consistent offensive tear and keep that confidence into all the remaining games. I still believe we have the talent and should the team get consistent and play with passion of Techsters past they would be a force to be reckoned with.
We have a clean slate and it all starts Wednesday at 1PM CST.
2008 Western Athletic Conference Tournament What: Louisiana Tech (15-14, 9-7 WAC) vs. Nevada (18-11, 9-7 WAC) Where: Pan American Center in Las Cruces, N.M. When: 1 p.m. CST Wednesday Radio: KXKZ-FM 107.5 Internet Audio: www.z1075fm.com Internet Video: www.wacsports.com
I really hope the Internet Video pulls through so I can watch it from work.
Go Techsters!
Do you think Coach Long would take a pay cut and stay for a few more years? That would free up much needed cash.
I agree with postponing talk of the contract until after the tournament. That said, I do not agree that "things have improved as of late."
We lost to Hawaii. That is NOT improvement.
