If we are doing another "nation wide" search, then we might as well save our money for something else and just accept that we are terrible. Unless a big donor steps up for the buyout we will have Long for another year.
It seems to me that it would cost more not to buy Long out. Think of the lost ticket revenue if we field another team that isn't even competitive with ULM. Average attendance has dropped by more than a thousand since Long became head coach.

It's time to hire a woman as head coach. I don't care who it is, but that is the direction women's bball is going and, especially after the fiasco with Kim and hiring two males after that, I think it raises questions about sexism in Ruston. Long deserves to be fired. Go find the best woman available.

The best woman available is Carolyn Peck.

I never respond to your quotes because you are even more controversial/annoying than I am at times, and that says a lot. BUT, I totally agree. Carolyn Peck would be a fantastic choice for the Techsters.

That would be quite a coup for Tech if they could land someone like Carolyn Peck. She's got a national championship under her belt and experience coaching in the SEC and the WNBA. She needs to be back on the sidelines (if for no other reason than to get her out of the broadcast booth).

Carol Ross is also available. And Mickie DeMoss might enjoy the opportunity to return to her alma mater.

Just a couple thoughts. Don't know if Tech could come up with the kind of money to get them here, though.

Ok now lets get back to the constructive talk, I love the idea of Carolyn Peck, Carol Ross or Mickie DeMoss. Those are three great names and they would be an awesome hire for our program. I have a question though how about Sylvia Crawley from Ohio she could be an interesting interview or Cynthia Cooper from Prarie View A&M. I have watched a couple of her games and her intensity is absolutely scary she makes Pat seem like a NUN.
I am saying all this and we have no reason to believe that the current staff will not be here next year but I like it when we have constructive talks and not all the smack you in the head comments.
Also lets not forget that we have a couple former Techsters coaching in the collegiate levels as head coaches in NCAA Division II Angela Lawson and Jennifer White. Where is Christy Sides is she still coaching?

Champ, thanks for the update, she would be a great look if something should open up. She has the ties in recruiting.

Someone posted the place that she works on here a while back. If we could find that post, there may be a way to find her email from that.

Just a thought, we need someone with stronger ties back to La. Tech's glory days. Jennifer White both played and coached during all 3 of Tech's titles. She has the "pedigree" and the love of the university. Sometimes those things will draw you when money cannot. Would be interesting to see. She has done a whole lot where she is with no budget or recruiting opportunities to speak of. HMMMMMMMMMMMMM. That $100,000 is sounding less and less expensive when you keep thinking that you cannot fill even the best seats.?????????????????? How about a pledge of 1,000 people at $100 each? I would be willing to put that out there!

Help the Techsters rise out of the ashes. If not, change the name to the Lady Bulldogs and retire the name Lady Techsters until it is earned again.
