Why is there no press release about Joni on "the official website of Louisiana Tech athletics?"
Are we just not gonna talk about it?

There's already a three page thread about it. What else is there to talk about?
Not here, brainiac. On Latechsports.com -- no mention of Joni leaving. There should be a press release to at least give some reason for the departure - whether it's PR puff piece or not. Not mentioning it on the "official site" is wishing we didn't have to talk about it. And it shows...

ok this is just dumb.
No business would ever put out a PR piece saying "we have lost one of our top ranking employees to a competitor"
Yes - so just don't talk about it - PR idiots. In trying to keep recruits - Tech media relations should of had a puff piece going out with quotes from joni saying it was a dream and honor to work at such a wonderful program as tech and blah blah blah. it's called for the good of the program. appearantly no one at tech knows how to do this though, and i shouldn't really be surprised. you make her say these things - corner her into even. it's called positive spin.
it looks more and more each day like people really are jumping ship. a little statement wouldn't hurt.
Exactly.
If she had accepted a promotion -- i.e., been named head coach -- that would have been press release-worthy. If a football position coach gets named a coordinator or head coach somewhere, they'll put out a press release for that too. But when a coach makes a lateral move (especially given all the turmoil seen by the Techster staff thus far in the offseason), it's best to just keep from unnecessarily publicizing it.
I mean, my gosh. Several people on this board have criticized the Tech media relations folks for putting "too much" positive spin on the Lady Techster situation, and others are now saying they're not doing enough to spin things positively. Make up your minds, people.
Do not claim to be a smart, however WAC (assistant) to SEC (assistant/alum) is not a lateral move(check the pay stub). This should have been reported out of respect to Joni, she worked hard here, good results or not!
IF there is no story, it is because Dooley doesn't want one, take it up with him, his office is upstairs in the fieldhouse. Better yet, wait until about 4 during football practice and he will be easy to find.
