Game - Sac State gets game 1....what has happened to our team?
Hate to say it.
We are bad. Really bad.
Are the players partying when they travel?
To say that I am disappointed about tonight and some of the games this season thus far would be a huge understatement. I really thought this would be the year. It is not over by any means. We really want our team peaking about 1 week before 2 weeks before the conference tournament anyway, I just thought we would be more competitive than what we are. We have been embarassed several times this year. Our pitching has been exposed. We have to make an adjustment somehow. ...............

I really hope you aren't blaming this on pitch calling. That's insane. Sooner or later, the pitchers have to step up and start throwing it over the plate, getting ahead of guys, and putting guys away. You can try as hard as you want, but you can't MAKE someone throw strikes. That comes from within. You've got to think you're the best player on the field, always, even when maybe you're not. Blaming Tree's pitch calling is a lame, lame, lame excuse. Pitch calling is slightly overrated. A hitter can know what's coming, but if the pitcher hits his spot and works down in the zone, it really doesn't matter. But you have to be in the zone consistently and work ahead.
You're right.....most of the blame falls on the pitchers. The pitchers were wild over the middle of the plate tonight and they paid for it. Many of our pitchers have been lacking confidence lately when they take the mound, and having yet another bad outing isn't helping matters at all. When they start hitting their spots again consistently, and getting ahead in the count.....their confidence will come back.
This was a disappointing thing to come home and see.
In honor of Sac St., "F."
Confidence means so much to a pitcher. I really think that has been one of Luke's biggest problems this year. He doesn't have much confidence right now, and one can understand why. But all it may take is for him to have one good outing, start feeling good about himself, and then start dealing every time out. Everyone knows he's capable of that, except him right now.
