Say what you want, but we are not a good team. This team's talent was way over rated. We will be very fortunate to finish in the top half of thw WAC, which I think is not possible now.
I think our team has some potential, but we really aren't that good at all.
IS is possible we dont make the wac postseason tournament?
Tech will be lucky not to be acting as the full-time grounds crew for the WAC Tournament while the other 6 teams are playing at this rate. If that isn't enough motivation for this team, then there may not be much hope.
The only saving grace may be that Hawai'i is playing almost as bad as Tech right now. That series in Ruston may determine which team misses the tournament.
Game three in the bottom of ninth 2 outs 6-4 Sac St. two runners on Goulder batting.
But, of course, Goulder strikes out and we lose again to go to 2-8 in WAC play
This is beyond disappointing.
We were a little bit overachievers in past 2 years with younger team and fell off last third of season. This year we are struggling with more balance and are underachievers. May have some overconfidence to start the season and forgot a lot of teams will be shooting for them now. Some kids are more adept in tough situations and others fall back when challenged. Some have strong positive character and some are whiners or moaners....just like in life and companies. Good life lessons!
This will be interesting, but I think I recall that all teams make WAC baseball tournament. Tougher part of conference schedule coming up on the road. Sometimes need to get team on road and away to change mentality.
That would be embarassing as humanly possible to host it and not be in it. It is disappointing by all means. I just hope that we can get on one of those streaks where we can win like 12 out of 15 games or something like that. Maybe we just aren't that good . . . . . I don't want to admit that b/c on paper, we have talent. Paper means zippo, we need W's, and alot of them soon . . . . .

Very dissappointing losses today. Dissappointing for everyone. No way to sugar coat it. We do have talent, but right now what we are missing the most is a player(s) that will step up and be the man. Someone that everyone on the team can look to and depend on. We don't have that right now. Coaches can only do so much. Sim will take the blame, just b/c that's the way he is. But once you get between those white lines, it's on the player's shoulders. There are no leaders. Just a bunch of followers right now. Everyone is waiting on someone else to make something happen instead of doing it themselves. Added to that are that our "superstars" are not getting it done. Hopefully some of them take a hard look in the mirror and decide to take control of this and turn it around. There is still time, and I still believe in them.
We WILL make the tournament. We are not that one of the top three teams, but we are definitely not last.
The current standings don't agree. Going into Sunday's games (New Mexico State at Nevada and Hawai'i at San Jose State), Tech is in last place outright by 1.5 games. Tech has to win a minimum of probably 3 of the next 8 at Fresno and San Jose to stay in touch with the pack....a tall order with how Tech is playing right now.

Fresno State 5-3 1.5 GB
New Mexico State 4-3 2.0 GB
