Mr. Streaker, although you make some relative, sound points, the Tech faithful do not reside in the realm of the logical. You are yet a grasshopper and have not truly come to understand that wise sages such as Mr. litnin' possess far superior intellect in sports knowledge to that of the mere man on the street. This vast knowledge of sports, especially TECH sports allows him and others to see things that are hidden from view to common sports fans like us. Where you and I see mediocre performances they are able to see the true domination of lesser teams by the mighty Bulldogs. It is far below Tech to consider being a part of a conference splattered with geographically closer based programs. With the total domination shown by tech football, mens basketball, lady techster basketball and now baseball of the inferior WAC teams it would be a giant step backwards for Tech to even consider a move to a lesser conference.
No sports knowledge is required to recognize imprecise English. And, while we're on superior intellect and logic, I'm sure you recognize that your post is a text book example of the straw man fallacy.
Oh, and feel free to point out Streaker's logical argument. For the life of me I can't find it. He's said he doesn't want to move the money sports and more recently he has said that he doesn't want to pull our baseball team out of the WAC. I'm still looking for a point, but I haven't found one yet.

We're not morons....we're just not looking at the world through powder blue glasses.
Only a moron would want to leave the WAC for a southland or worse, sunbelt affiliation. Thus if the shoe fits...
So what exactly are you saying? I'm not sure I understand. You say it would be great for baseball fans if the Louisiana schools were in the same conference, or not? I guess that would be nice for baseball (although I am not sure why you left out LSU - we're just talking baseball, right?), but unfortunately conferences don't work that way.
I guess if this is just an "I wish baseball could work this way" thought - then ok. But I have to agree, that wasn't totally clear from your posts. If you are trying to say that would be a better conference for all sports. . . that would be different.
I can't believe I am responding to this as a serious post. What the heck, I'll give it one shot -
It isn't below Tech to consider other conferences that are better geographic fits than the WAC. Not at all. There was a strong push to join Conference USA (weaker than the WAC in football - but we'd still take it). I'm pretty sure we'd accept an invitation into the SEC or Big 12 (either would be better geographically than the WAC, right?).
The scenerio in this thread (while it might be a nice hypothetical) obviously wouldn't work for all sports - and so it can't happen. It would be a step backwards for any school to join a "lesser" conference, wouldn't it?
Not to rain on anybodies parade, but Coach Sim said on the post game interview and I quote, "maybe we should play in the southland or the sun-belt so we can compete." I don't know if he really believes that or he was being sarcastic, but he did say it. It kind rubbed me the wrong way because right before he made that statement, he was talking about how we would get blown out by anybody in conference if we played like we did tonight.
How bout them Dawgs!
Probably because he knows baseball just like I do. I was not saying that Tech should jump conference in baseball or any other sport. I was just making a COMMENT that it would be nice to see TECH compete more in conference play. If you don't understand, look at the box score tonight and guess who they played. GET MY POINT??
Sim must read BB&B.
