Ellis is just as good as Dorsey in my opinion.

Rashard is a little too much like Marion.

Mike Jenkins was a good choice..and I'm surprised we were able to get him when we did.

Martellus Bennet was a great choice too.

    Is Earl Bennet still around?

The saints having few picks with trades and all is getting me reckless. Maybe next year we can keep some picks and draft 7 guys. We have 4 picks today if we dont trade though.

I liked the new time limits, their was no reason to have such a long first round last year.

btw, Im glad they passed on dorsey, ellis is just as good, strong, and gives us the opportunity to pick up someone else.

Pick-up Woodson in the 5th if he's still around. He's got all the tools and the size. He'd benefit from sitting behind DB for a few years.

Woodson had the worst personal workout in the history of legitimately draft eligible quarterbacks, per a number of sources.

    Re: NFL DRAFT BABY!!!

The Saints are definitely focused on fixing their defensive problems.

    Free Agent pickups:

    Jonathan Vilma (LB)
    Dan Morgan (LB)
    Aaron Glenn (CB)
    Randall Gay (CB)

    Draft Picks:
    Sedrick Ellis (DT)
    Tracy Porter (CB)
    DeMario Pressley (DT)

Two more 5th round picks, plus a 6th and a 7th still remaining.

If Meacham can contribute this year at WR, and we can pick up a good RB to start preparing for the departure of Deuce, the Saints will be in much better shape.

Also, the new draft format is awesome. No time wasted and you actually have to stay on your toes to follow what is going on.

Porter projects as a #3 guy. Gay was a back-up at New England. I still want a shut-down corner.

Check that...two total in the 5th, one in the sixth, and we gave Detroit our 7th round selection.

A great draft and off season IMHO.

New Saints UDFAs...Who Are They? Profiles.....
    J. GEATHERS DL UNLV 6'2" 250 4.75 -- Brother of Robert and Son of Jumpy! Undersized edge rusher. Could add bulk and not lose much speed. Good explosion off the snap.

    D. ROACH SS TCU 6'1" 212 4.49 -- scouts say he has stiff hips, but his recovery speed almost makes up for it. very supportive in the run game and can hit. Questionable hands. bites on pump fakes & play action.

    A. MILLINGTON OT ILLINOIS 6'5" 312 5.34 -- big framed, long armed RT. lacks weightroom strength, lacks agility in pass protection, average athlete flashes power, but is inconsistent.

    R. SCHWARTZ SS/WLB HOUSTON 5'10" 200 4.60 -- Tough, productive, box strong safety/WLB tweener. recovering from serious knee injury. Willing hitter and sound tackler. could be a ST headhunter a la Steve Gleason.

    T. BLYTHE WR IOWA STATE 6'4" 210 4.58 -- kind of a Drew Bennett/Joe Jurevicious/Chase Lyman type WR. Father was a cather for SF Giants. very good hands, uses his body well to seal off defenders. Red zone weapon. good character. tries hard to block in the run game.

    J. BOONE C UTAH 6'4" 300 5.32 -- short armed, positional blocker lacks upper body strength and mental toughness. Is said to play soft and often gets walked back in the passing game.

T.C. OSTRANDER QB STANFORD 6'2" 220 4.96 -- nice arm strength and is not afraid to get hit in order to complete the big pass. somewhat shaky accuracy. nice pocket agility and can throw on the run. played behind a horrible O Line but so did teammate and new Bills starter Trent Edwards. won't beat out Palko IMO.

I'd still like to see a running back in there somewhere. Arrington seems to have a good upside and hopefully Meacham will come around this year. But, Reggie Bush is not a "between the tackles" runner, and Deuce is an 8th year guy coming off his second ACL surgery. Hopefully Payton and Loomis have something up their sleeves at that position. Maybe bring in Shaun Alexander for a tryout.
