Get away weekend

looking for an idea for a get away weekend within 3 hours of monroe/ruston any ideas?

Would love for a beach or body of water. South Arkansas, east tx...anything?

Lake Hamilton, Lake Degray, etc etc -

Hot Springs area - plenty to eat, plenty of scenery....

If you want a quite weekend - look towards a bed & breakfast in Jefferson TX - no water but nice little shops and such that women seem to like....

Three hours whould get you to Chicago (by air).

Lake Ouchita (sp?) is pretty awesome. It's a flooded valley, so if you take a scuba lesson, you can go down and see all the houses and stuff (so I've heard). It's also a great lake for skiing, wakeboarding, ect.

Lake DeGray is awsome for quick get a way. its beautiful. what amazes me is the total lack of buildings on the banks. All i've seen so far is the state park and the marina area, everything else is trees and rocks :icon_wink:

I thought about that. However it will probably just be for a night and I want to keep the drive to 3 to 3 1/2 hours.

Yeah, but the Mississippi Gulf Coast will probably make it easier for you to stay up on your LSU news.

I have heard there are nice cabins at Lake D'arbonne State Park. Some friends of mine got one for the weekend for a Lady's weekend and they reported they are very nice. I personally have not stayed there or even seen them...

I stayed at the ones at Lake Bistineau. They were really nice. Lake Bistineau was a little too overgrown for fishing, but the cabins were nice.

I stayed at the ones at Lake Bistineau. They were really nice. Lake Bistineau was a little too overgrown for fishing, but the cabins were nice.

Lake D'Arbonne is beautiful.
