    Thumbs Up Iron Man

    The 2008 movie season has officially kicked off with "Iron Man," a hugely entertaining film that for the most part balances silly with clever...Robert Downey Jr. is pitch perfect (much better than Shaq from "Steele") as the quick-witted metal man and plays very well with the other supporting actors, including a very worthy villian...

    Laughs come frequent and hard with the action taking a backseat from a less than impressive director Jon Favreau, but make no mistake about it, this one packs a punch and is a nice way to start the BLOCKBUSTER season...

    Don't forget to stay until after the end credits...:icon_wink:

    This along with the new Indiana Jones movie are the most anticipated movies coming out this summer, at least at my house. Is Iron Man appropriate for 10 year olds? My stepson wants to see it bad and I know it has a PG-13 rating. Any thoughts?

    We took my 5 year old and had to cover his eyes at some scenes in the beginning. No nudity, but some rolling around in the bed. Once the action starts, the sexual stuff is over as I remember.

    It was cool, but I was not blown away. I liked Forgetting Sarah Marshall better.

    I heard that as well. havent seen Iron Man yet but heard about the spoiler and leading to a possible avengers movie in 2011.

    BTW I keep hearing about a Batman vs. Superman movie is that ever going to happen?

    doubt it...i think that rumor was started because of the movie billboard in 'i am legend' which was apparently just something a designer put together using images that warner brothers already owned. the justice league movie (with neither brandon routh or christian bale) has hit some snags i haven't heard a lot about it. there may not be another legit superman movie for a while.

    I need to check that movie out. I thought Superman 2 was coming out next year?

    superman sequel is listed as 'announced' on imdb.com with no cast or director listed.
