Good teams don't hit the first 2 batters in the 9th. We have momentum from scoring 3 in the 8th, and our pitcher hits the first 2 batters. That crap can't happen. Good teams don't do that, and that is the difference btw us and good teams, all of the little things that we don't do.

No, but not so good teams do it constantly. This just isnt the year for Bulldog baseball. I held out hope all year, but it is looking pretty bleak. We have constantly done crap like this all year.

Guys we had some sharp hits caught by miraculous snags with base runners in scoring position. We had some hits across 3rd and across 1st that were inches short of multiple bases. We had outs hit to the warning track all day. Nevada's homerun went almost directly over the 1st base foul pole.
They got the fortunate breaks today, we didn't.

Tech could just as easily be 2-0 vs Nevada at this point as 1-1.

The team battled to the very last out today.

Very true. It was quite evident that they were into the game the whole time.

Hate to say it, but I wonder were we'd be now if it wasn't for whatever's been going on in that locker room. This is a different group of teammates than we've seen for 2 months.

Both teams fought hard all the way. I thought the difference was Nevada made the one play they had to have - that great catch by their left fielder in the 8th. If he misses that catch we are ahead and Sim can bring in his closer for the 9th. We had 3 difficult but possible plays in the outfield that weren't made and an error in the infield. Without those the only run Nevada has is the homerun and it is a bases empty job. Not trying to be hard on our guys - just pointing out that winning teams make the plays they have to have.

In big games, big players make big plays. We have been on the short end of the stick all year. I'm tired of losing at almost everything for my alma mater.

And the congregations said "Amen." We don't move runners well enough, break on balls well enough by more players, defense is really well below average, pitching inconsistent/up down, hitting inconsistent. Doesn't help offensively if key guys are not getting on enough with any consistency when better hitters come up that our oppenents can then pitch differently. As you stated, it is everything, not just one thing.
