Not once was a specific politician named, yet Berry thought it was all about him, and top Democrats cry foul...
If the shoe fits, wear it...
The quote: "Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is — the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."
I don't have a problem with that quote. If Barack has a problem with that, I think he needs to do some introspection.
Yes, Obama is overreacting.

The senator attributed with the quote is Senator William Borah...a REPUBLICAN from Idaho who was a staunch Liberal who was a supporter of the New Deal. Of course, since party affiliation is everything, there is no way a sitting politician would ever say anything bad about someone from their own party, so they must be talking about the other party…
Hell, Sen. Joe Kennedy could have been the one attributed to the quote since he basically told the US not to worry about Hitler after a meeting with PM Chamberlain and an envoy of Hitler regarding the invasion/occupation of Poland and the beginnings of Jewish persecution by the Nazi Party.
Bush is just telling it like it is to Israel and the world. I LOVE IT!! If BSO thinks W was talking about him, he's right. It's BHO's own fault for stating his desire to negotiate with terrorist. BHO is very naive about dealing with terrorist nations and American policy on the subject for 200+ years. BTW, Hillary feels the same on this topic as BUSH. But she'll just sit back and let the GOP do her dirty work on this one. Hillary's not hammering on BHO, on anything, but especially on this exact subject, has cost her the nomination.
If you dont think that W's comment was directed at Obama, you are incredibly naive, or just being intentionally blind to the truth. Yes, W said "Some" but isnt that vague-speak the exact thing you guys blasted Bill Clinton for? You cant have it both ways, because trying to have it both ways is called being a hypocrite. So are you being naive or a hypocrite?

Hasnt American Policy for the last 60 years been "The enemy of my enemy is my friend", so we fund the ones who want to overthrow the regime we dont like and then 20 years later it's "Oh shit, now they have our weapons AND they hate us too!" so we fund THEIR enemies to overthrow them, and, big shock, then THOSE guys turn around and start attacking us...
Gee, maybe there's a better way? No, it wont just take one great speech, and no one is implying it will.... but diplomacy forges longer lasting peace than going in someplace and blowing shit up.

Obama has said in the past he would try to have diplomatic talks with Iran. It's obvious that when Bush said "Some people want to appease terrorists and radicals" he was insinuating that Obama would want to appease Iran (and at the same time, W got to get in a dig at Iran). If you dont think thats what W meant, youre just a dumbass.
Then of course W brings up the Nazis. God forbid a democrat bring up the nazis when talking about W. But then, to the republican, being a hypocrite must be second nature by now.

What probably made Obama think Bush was talking about him was the senator reference.
Well, when bringing up Nazism in the context of GWB they are usually equating the two. In the context of Obama (assuming the shoe fits with wanting to negotiate with "terrorists"), he would only be similar to THOSE THAT WANTED TO NEGOTIATE with Hitler. Surely you can see the difference?
