New Job!

Well, I just got the phone call offering me a new position. It's still within the Police Department, but now I'm a PC Technician. From what it sounds like, I'll be working on the laptops, radios, and such in the patrol cars.

I hate leaving my current boss behind, but for 5K extra a year, it's hard to stick around. She's a really good boss to work for, but she tells me that my new boss is real easy going as well. I think that I'll finally get an 8-5 type job now as well. This will be a big change after almost 5 years on swings and graveyards, but I'm looking forward to it.

I start a new job search next week myself. And I know what you mean about leaving a good boss for a new boss. Hopefully my acting ability covered the fact that I saw thru their bs justification of the pay inequity in the company.

If any of you, family members, or friends in or around the Shreveport/Bossier area want my old job, please PM me with your/their information. This wouldn't be something for someone looking for a dream job, but it's a low stress job, fairly easy, and pretty good management to work under.

They would have to be able to work a mouse and a few other computer skills.

This would be a good job for either a family that needs a little more income, a retired person looking for something to help out, or a young person that has finished HS but is not in college. Pay is around $24K/yr staring out with pay raises every year (as long as you pass your evaluation).

AFIS will be 3 people short (12 positions in our Unit) once I leave there and I hate leaving them this way.
