    HOW THE WAC WASN'T WON

Not simply with regard to OUR baseball team, but the whole conference in general--what were they thinking with this 4-game series? Any coach would have to assume he had mega-pitching to pull this off. I even heard Sim was crowing last summer about the pitching he'd bring into the WAC play--obviously a gross underestimate. Let's hope they meet this week and TRASH this rule! It was a dismal failure. We beat each other up all season and now nobody looks strong at this point.

With regard to the 4-game schedule, they wanted to be able to play 56 games (?) in a shorter amount of time (as dictated by NCAA). This definitely was not the best route.

I think they ought to go back to the way it was and let the northern teams deal with their non-baseball condusive climate. Why should everyone be punished because it snows in April up there? That's ridiculous.

Maybe someone should tell them it rains in March and April here.

Maybe we should recognize a broom when we see one because we were swept quite a bit this year. Although I agree with the 4 game statement, our pitchers couldnt hit the side of a barn with a combine this year, even if it were a 3 game rotation.

I just read the prices for tickets to the WAC tournament had been lowered by Tech officials.

It's mind boggling that the NCAA would let any university play 56 games in the regular season. Aren't the players students?

Our hitters were not there either. It was a whole team flop. They are, however, led by a group of coaches that will learn from the experience and make the necessary adjustments. They need real support now more than ever. Despite this season, Tech baseball is improving as a whole.

Defensively, one of all time worse....unbelievable. Just adds to problems in all areas.
