So there was this guy in my CIS 110 class this past winter quarter who decided to wear an lsu hat to class one day. I kindly informed him that it was the wrong apparel to wear on the campus of Louisiana Tech University. He intelligentl responded with, "WOW, WHAT A DOUCHE-BAG!", in a very loud manner. Seeing as he was unable to handle intelligent conversation, I dropped the matter.

We had a second altercation at Wal-Mart yesterday. He walked by, decked out in lsu garb, so I promptly let him know that lsu blows dogs for quarters. He again responded with, "WOW WHAT A DOUCHE-BAG!" in a very loud manner.

Just today, which is 5-6 months later, I received a message from him via facebook stating, "I'm just glad to see the Tech Bulldogs have a gorilla mascot. Now that's school pride."

Well, this is what I sent him in return:


I am not, nor will I ever claim to be a mascot.

What I do is out of appreciation and respect for my fellow classmates that happen to represent my Alma Mater in athletics. But, seeing as how you don't have that same appreciation or respect for them, I wouldn't expect you to understand that.

I know. "It's a free country. I can wear what I want, support who I want, and blah blah blah blah blah...". This much is true. But, just like any other decision you make, your decision on who you support and what you wear comes with consequences. So...if you decide to support a school you don't attend, and then decide to flaunt that ignorance by disrespecting the athletes that work so hard to represent the school you DO attend, don't be surprised if somebody calls you out on it.

So, you can get pissed off about getting called out (you wouldn't insist on calling me a douche-bag if you weren't irritated about it, and come to think of it, it's a shame you can't come up with something more creative), or you can get over it, move on, be a man, and hold yourself back from facebook stalking somebody that has no interest in carrying on any sort of conversation with someone as thick-headed, ignorant, and disrespectful toward their Alma Mater as yourself.

If I were an instructor at TECH, every day you woe aby other schools garb would cost you a point off the next test up to 7 points off. Likewise, a point for wearing TECH garb up to 7 points. I bet the purple and gold would disappear.

I want to thank you for standing up for our university. Someone wearing Tech gear at LSU wouldn't last long....we need to instill that sort of pride at Tech. The reason it happens so much is because there aren't enough people saying anything and calling them out. If the idiots that wear LSU crap to Tech classes would get confronted enough times, it would eventually stop. Great job man!

One day this guy is going to apply for his dream job. The guy that interviews him may or may not be from Tech. He may or may not be from a smaller school. But when he looks at his transcript and asks him about Tech athletics while he was here and he responds "I don't know I am an LSU fan" what do you think his interviewer is going to say? Great! That is what I try to tell my family..."you have no connections to LSU whatsoever. The only reason you root for them is because they have had a streak of success. It's easy to root for the team you know will win. Why not root for the underdog...or better yet, root for the school you graduated from....NSU, ULL, ULM, etc. "

Just recently, a member of my extended family gave us a LSU outfit for our baby shower. It almost made me vomit when I saw it. My wife and I both agreed that it would NEVER go on our child. Someone in my wife's family wanted us to put it on her when she's born and at least take one picture...we both in unisom said "NO!!!". I'm a Tech grad, my wife attends Tech, we live in Ruston, I have Tech stuff all on my truck....is it not obvious that we're Tech fans? I hate when people assume that you are an LSU fan just because you live in Louisiana. I'm still fuming over the whole incident. That LSU outfit will never come through the door of my house!!!!

LSU's day is coming. Like I always say, The sun don't shine up the same dog's ass everyday." Same goes for Tigers. I predicted losing seasons ahead. They've all forgotten how they sucked in the '80's and 90's and how empty their stadium was. They are going to remember soon. WorthLes will take care of that.

Just recently, a member of my extended family gave us a LSU outfit for our baby shower. It almost made me vomit when I saw it. My wife and I both agreed that it would NEVER go on our child. Someone in my wife's family wanted us to put it on her when she's born and at least take one picture...we both in unisom said "NO!!!". I'm a Tech grad, my wife attends Tech, we live in Ruston, I have Tech stuff all on my truck....is it not obvious that we're Tech fans? I hate when people assume that you are an LSU fan just because you live in Louisiana. I'm still fuming over the whole incident. That LSU outfit will never come through the door of my house!!!!

We have friends and family members that would think about doing that to my wife and I. But no one had balls big enough to actually do it!

Funny story. My wife broke down last Christmas when she had to buy a White Elephant gift for her office and bought lsu stuff. She bought the lsu ribbon. The lsu tissue paper. The lsu gift bag. And filled the bag with a Buckeye shirt! She said the look was priceless!

Well, upon recieving gifts its only right to send a thank you note. the message i wrote was, "thank you so much for the penis warmers that you were so kind to give. we will get a lot of use out of them". I regifted them at a later date to a ulm guy that is a lsu fan. :icon_wink:

I use to not care. Now I find it more fun to care.
Gives me something to do in the off season.
Maybe if we had a school to hate like those on the east side of the state (nlulm) I would feel differently. But the handful of people I know that went to nlu hate ulm. If it wasn't for BB&B I might not even know they changed their name. So there is no "natural rivalry" there. Heck I have seen more NMST fans than I have nlulm fans in this area.

I guess the point is, if we don't have lsu to hate on we don't have anyone to hate on!

One of my coworkers who is an LSU fans is hoping that day comes soon so he can get season tickets.
