You couldn't cross the seal in the Temple. That's why the knight never left. A lot of critics say that The Last Crusade is the weakest and thought that the dad should have stayed behind in the temple as the guard.

How old were we all when we saw those for the first time??? Perhaps our first and lasting impressions of these films were a little more biased in a positive fashion in our younger years. Seeing this one in all our old ages may not affect us like it did back then. Even though all were unbelievable, twenty something years ago it was a little easier for me to become positively and emotionally engaged in such. Then, of course, that childhood impression of Indiana Jones sticks with us.

    Or maybe not...
I am 21 and hated it.

They lost touch with the story. Maybe it would have been better if they would have spent less time in the same freaking jungle and did more leg work of finding clues.

Well then you would be that rare thing we refer to sometimes as..."the exception." :icon_wink:

Seriously though, I definitely agree with the bolded above.

I also wonder if, we were all familiar with the holy grail and the ark of the covenant. They are of God, so their powers are more acceptable in believability. maybe one reason why the temple of doom was our least favorite, and the aliens don't really cut it?

Definitely more of a mysticism behind them, which is always intriguing.
