You are right that it is taking a huge risk and will be a lot of work on Coach Dooley. But it isn't like it never happens. It was happening at Wisconsin just a few years ago.

As far as delegating isn't that why we hired Van de Velde.

Well, I think you would agree that LA Tech isn't like most athletic departments in the entire nation. We have less money and more needs than most.

However, the "current system" of having Dooley act as AD and Head Coach seems to be working very well. As an AD, Dooley has gotten more dirt flying on the Tech campus in the last few months than I've seen in the last 30 years. He's also done a great job reaching out to the masses, including alumni and former players.

As a head coach Dooley has only disappointed me twice (so far); the Nevada loss and his inability to sign a top quality QB.

Then again, Rome wasn't built in a day.

CHC, I'm talking about a top QB recruit that we can benefit from for 4 years. Bennett and the others are short termers for the most part. But I do believe Dooley will eventually get there.

Never heard of him. I must have missed the memo. Is this an '09 commit? Or the transfer from USM?

Dawgs need to be relatively injury-free coming out of first 3 games of the season, and be physically ready for WAC play.

That's great news Coach. Maybe DD will loan him to coach Sim during the offseason.

Is "HEATER" a baseball term? I've been following so much boy's baseball that I have picked up some of the lingo.

Don't you think he needs a little more cushion to absorb the blows? But, you are right, he WILL naturally grow when he "matures" like you & I have already done. We just need him to do some "semi-maturing" NOW!
