    Texas Alumni

Anybody think there would be enough interest among Tech alumni in Texas to apply for Tech custom license plates?

It never occurred to me before that you could have a specialty plate for a state university in another state until I saw some Auburn plates on Georgia and Tennessee cars.

    Just curious.

I would be interested, if it were affordable. Would love to have a Tech license plate. I am not a true alumni, though. Had to finish my bachelor's and masters at another school due to my major. I am, will always be, and always was all Tech through and through, though.

Isn't their a CHAMPS group in DFW or Houston? They could spearhead this, raise the funds, and work with Tech on the filling out the information.

I would be interested because I have a personalized plate Tech 22. All the other things easy to think of were already done, so I added my birthday to it.

There would be 2-3 plates between my wife and I. I surely think between the DFW guys and Houston we could swing it.

I guess I fit the former student catagory very well. Actually, I was 12 hours from finishing my degree at Tech and decided I wanted a degree in something different. Pretty stupid to transfer at that point, but I did it. Looking back, it was the right thing to do, though. Still wish one of my degrees were from Tech, though. I was born and raised a Dawg - both parents and only sibling all graduated from Tech - plus all brothers and sisters of both parents, which is amazing. When I think of my college life, I think of Tech. The other schools were just to get the pieces of paper I needed. UT Arlington, Southern, Texas Tech... None mean anything to me like the real TECH.

For whatever it's worth, in my opinion, you're as much Tech as anyone on this board and more than quite a few.

Well hell. I guess that definition makes me an LSU alumnus as well. Now, I don't have to feel guilty when I pull for them on the rare occasion. They still get none of my money, though.

Well, unless you've been dodging your taxes, that is not entirely true.
