I'm stoked about Shockey and I've got MUCH respect for Witten. Don't forget that Colston has only played 2 seasons and he's been one of the top receivers in the NFC both of them. He's a GREAT player and is on track to have a great career.

Witten had an OC that knew what he was doing. Shockey was on a running team that didn't use him properly. It really isn't hard to see when you look at the numbers. I'm not saying that Witten will have a bad year, so get your panties out of your crack. Jeremy Shockey has more talent than Jason Witten. Bottom line. Shockey will prosper under Payton.

Shockey is good I know. But he isn't as good as Witten.
And I love Colston. 7th round TE out of Hofstra and goes on to be a great WR. I have much respect for him and wished he played for the Cowboys..but if T.O. was Colstons age, I'd take T.O.

Most of the Saints fans on this board are incapable of this. Many of them hate the Cowboys more than they like the Saints. At least Dwayne admits this and I respect him for it.

Witten is definitely better than Shockey, Stray. He's one of the more underrated players in the league.

You obviously aren't understanding me. I don't care who they play for, you are the one hung up on that. How many passes were thrown to Witten last year? How many were thrown to Shockey? I honestly don't know these stats, but I would guess that Witten got quite a few more attempts than Shockey because of his OC.

Witten is big and has good hands. Shockey is big, has good hands and good speed. That makes him a mismatch for LBs or CBs.

Hate him all you want, but Shockey is going to be a great addition for the Saints.

What difference does it make if Witten is better than Shockey? My understanding was that the Cowboys never had Witten on the trading block so what difference did it make. My concern is whether Shockey makes the Saints better not whether he's better than a tight end on another team. There are several tight ends I'd rather have had but Shockey was, to my knowledge, the only viable option. And no, I'm not a big Shockey fan, but yes I do believe he'll make the Saints a better team. As far as Witten and Shockey's stats they're really comparable.

As far as TO vs Colston, I'd never let TO step into the locker room for a team that I owned, especially in his younger years. A lot of my dislike for Shockey is his attitude, but its a 100 times better than what TO's use to be.

And yes I am a Dallas Cowboy hater though not as much as during the Staubach(?) era. With me you can pretty much tell when a team's become successful as I start hating them. Luckily I've been a Saints and Cubs fan most of my life so I haven't had to worry about it alot. Don't know what will happen when the DAWGS become really, really good. Guess I can always start cheering for NLU.

I'll give him credit for those stats - but I'd like to point out that I haven't fumbled in 3 years either.

He also leads TE's in Super Bowls watched from a suite. :icon_wink: He's a good TE but his last team improved without him. (Ewing theory?)
