Olympic Swimming Records

I think the pool is like the Tech pool, about a foot to short. I would be interested if anyone ever checked the length. I am sure they have, but maybe it was overlooked.

it certainly does seem strange, but have any records been broken on the 50m races? not that i have seen. it could be the depth of the pool. wake wouldn't be a factor on a 50m race, but it becomes a factor once you have to turn and swim back the way you just came. a deeper pool would allow more room for the force to dissapate. i don't think it's the width of the pool. this isn't the first time an 8-lane meet has been swam in a 10-lane pool.

I think we just have a perfect storm going on.

1. WRs go down at every Olympics. We just keep getting faster at swimming. Better training, etc.
2. Those laser suits.
3. "Fast" pool. I'm not sure what all goes into this exactly, but its width, temp. depth all come into play.
4. New rules on turning?
