Very interesting. Top recruit in the country for the class of '08, signs with UConn, and now ends up not enrolling in school.

Some speculation that she couldn't handle being away from her family, also some....um...."other" issues being tossed around.
Definitely throws a monkey wrench into UConn's season. Couldn't happen to a better coach, IMO.

Sounds like she could just tired of the whole basketball thing. Sometimes a kid with talent and/or size gets shoved into an activity that they are good at, but their heart is not really in it. Could be the case here, who knows. Kind of doubt it since she is the player of the year, but stranger things have happened. I hope she can get everything worked out and go on to a successful life. l will not shed a tear for Geno and UConn though...
It's called karma. Geno should have been expecting it. Feel badly for her, but not for Geno or UCONN.
From what I've read and heard from different people, I think that is exactly the case. She did one workout in the summer and realized that she wasn't going to put herself through four more years of something she hates.
One of her teammates on the USA U16 team a couple years ago told a friend of a friend (yeah, I know) that all Delle Donne talked about while they were playing together was how much she hated playing and was ready to give it up, but her parents wouldn't let her. Now she can make her own decisions.
Some folks on one of the UConn boards were speculating that she may go to Delaware or Villanova and play volleyball. Now that would be interesting.
She's going to Delaware.
