Might as well finish these off, I've already trashed the AIP one.

Let's do the Bridge to Nowhere. Yes, she was for it, but then her position and killed it. Alaska's Democratic Party even state it on a website they support/fund:

    http://www.retireted.com/category/re...ravina-bridge/

"The Gravina Island Bridge initially received $223 million in 2005 via earmarks by Alaska Senators Ted Stevens and Lisa Murkowski. The bridge would have connected Ketchikan, Alaska with its local airport on nearby Gravina Island (population 50). Congress stripped the earmark after a national uproar about it but appropriated the money anyway for unspecified transportation uses. Former Gov. Frank Murkowski’s administration set aside about $113 million of the appropriation for the Ketchikan bridge. However, Gov. Sarah Palin said the $398 million bridge was $329 million short of full funding, and only $36 million in federal funds were set aside for it. She said it was clear Congress had little interest in spending any more money for it and that the state had higher priorities.

On Oct. 20, 2005, Ted threatened to resign from the Senate if lawmakers took away money allocated for the Gravina Island Bridge and the Knik Arm Bridge and redirected it to Hurricane Katrina repairs in Louisiana. The attempt to redirect the bridge money was defeated, but Congress later removed the earmarks after intense public criticism."

The funny thing is that Barry and Biden voted for the Bridge to Nowhere:

    http://www.cdobs.com/archive/our-col...-nowhere,1628/

"However, Sen. Biden and Sen. Obama voted for funding the Bridge, even when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief."

So...when ObamaBiden had the chance to shift the funding to Katrina relief they still chose to fund the Bridge to Nowhere...

And if you now want to get into a discussion of flip flops....bring it on.

I think was addressed pretty wel before...how do you think small towns get funding for projects? Earmarks from the Federal and State Governments. bond issues or raising taxes ahead of time.

However, when she's been inthe position to manage the distribution of those eramrks, she's whacked them out.

    Now.

Do you want to get into a discussion of the amount of earmarks the No. 1 "man" on the Democrat ticket BHO has been the recipient of as a community organizer or that he's tacked on to bills since he's been in the US Senate? It'll get ugly...

Do you want to compare BHO's record on earmarks to John McCain's?

The city of Wasilla voted on and approved a referendum to build the sporst complex (it was more than just a hockey rink btw). To pay for the complex, the toen voted to raise the local sales tax from 2% to 2.5%.

So... the town of Wasilla voted to take on that debt and agreed to pay for it via a tax increase. They're also ahead of schedule to pay it off.

And the debt she left is $17MM.

    http://michellemalkin.com/2008/09/06...ed-books-list/

Reader Martin: “If you read the Anchorage Daily News article, towards the bottom, you find that Palin requested the resignations not only of the librarian, but of several other township officials. Why? Because they were political appointees who openly supported her political opponent. Palin requested the resignations a few days BEFORE she assumed office, apparently for political reasons, as would be routine in ALL such situations, including in the very small town of Washington, DC. [Didn’t some no-name politician fire all of the US Attorneys?] Frankly, it’s far more remarkable (and shows a great deal of tolerance) for Palin to have KEPT Emmons in office. And you’d think people would consider the source when Emmons claims Palin wanted to ban books.”

    http://www.adn.com/sarah-palin/story/515512.html

In December 1996, Emmons told her hometown newspaper, the Frontiersman, that Palin three times asked her -- starting before she was sworn in -- about possibly removing objectionable books from the library if the need arose.

Emmons told the Frontiersman she flatly refused to consider any kind of censorship. Emmons, now Mary Ellen Baker, is on vacation from her current job in Fairbanks and did not return e-mail or telephone messages left for her Wednesday.

When the matter came up for the second time in October 1996, during a City Council meeting, Anne Kilkenny, a Wasilla housewife who often attends council meetings, was there.

Like many Alaskans, Kilkenny calls the governor by her first name.
"Sarah said to Mary Ellen, 'What would your response be if I asked you to remove some books from the collection?" Kilkenny said.

"I was shocked. Mary Ellen sat up straight and said something along the line of, 'The books in the Wasilla Library collection were selected on the basis of national selection criteria for libraries of this size, and I would absolutely resist all efforts to ban books.'"
Palin didn't mention specific books at that meeting, Kilkenny said.

Palin herself, questioned at the time, called her inquiries rhetorical and simply part of a policy discussion with a department head "about understanding and following administration agendas," according to the Frontiersman article.

    TEST OF LOYALTY

Were any books censored banned? June Pinell-Stephens, chairwoman of the Alaska Library Association's Intellectual Freedom Committee since 1984, checked her files Wednesday and came up empty-handed.

Pinell-Stephens also had no record of any phone conversations with Emmons about the issue back then. Emmons was president of the Alaska Library Association at the time.Books may not have been pulled from library shelves, but there were other repercussions for Emmons.

Four days before the exchange at the City Council, Emmons got a letter from Palin asking for her resignation. Similar letters went to police chief Irl Stambaugh, public works director Jack Felton and finance director Duane Dvorak. John Cooper, a fifth director, resigned after Palin eliminated his job overseeing the city museum.

Palin told the Daily News back then the letters were just a test of loyalty as she took on the mayor's job, which she'd won from three-term mayor John Stein in a hard-fought election. Stein had hired many of the department heads. Both Emmons and Stambaugh had publicly supported him against Palin.

Emmons survived the loyalty test and a second one a few months later. She resigned in August 1999, two months before Palin was voted in for a second mayoral term.

We talk about all this but somehow neglect any conversation about earmarks, BHO, an Michelle Obama's employer. Here's some meat for the progressives out there:

Who sponsored and earmark for the employer of his wife?
Who got a 3 fold pay raise shortly after the earmark was received?

It's out there...you just have to look for it!
I'm an asshole! What's your excuse?
