Obama's decision to opt out of public campaign financing is paying off as Barbara Streisand headlines a big-bucks $31G-a-person Beverly Hills fundraiser.
Obama is financing his presidential race with private contributions after abandoning a pledge to take public financing capped at $84 million. His campaign announced Sunday it had collected $66 million in August, a fundraising record for any presidential candidate in a monthlong period.
I can see a McCain commercial coming now. So much for being the "people's" president. More of the elitist bs from Obama. "I feel your pain".
Berry gets his supporters all hot and bothered by saying McCain is out of touch because he lives on a mountain and owns several houses with his millionare wife, but yet he has "fundraisers" like this where only the top 1% can attend? Looks like the "Two Americas" exist and Berry is trying to play the fence.

No it isn't. Nobody cares if he owns 20 houses and wears $525 loafers. Many liberals are wealthy. The problem is that he is so old that he can't remember how many houses he has that bothers them. That and the fact that he is "out-of-touch" with the common working stiff in this country. McCain was a decent guy but now that he is running with Rove he is getting to be a petty politician showing poor judgment.
And as far as Palin is concerned, this country doesn't need a President that can skin a moose and is clueless about the economy or how to fix it.

They wouldn't be getting President, they'll be getting a VICE PRESIDENT... She must know how to do something right, because you and the rest of Obama's supporters are afraid of this woman, and not because y'all think she will make things worse... Problem is, McCain would be President, not her. And you don't know what she would do about the economy, nor does it matter, because she is there to be VICE PRESIDENT. McCain's views and such are what important, not hers.
Plus, usuing that logic, why would you ever think to vote for Obama?
Well, McCAin has already stated that he is clueless about the economy. Picking a clueless VP is not exactly smart. Believe Rove if you want, I don't. His fingerprints are all over McCain's campaign.
Hey, plenty of republicans don't like the idea of Palin on the ticket. Imagining her as President makes me want to grab the barf-bag. Sorry. Her finger on the nuclear button makes me very, very nervous.
