The group calling themself Anonymous did not do this. It was the work of one asshat and the latest is he left an electronic trail which, so far, has led investigators to Chicago.

It was done by Anonymous..
The concept is hard to understand, but Rubico was Anonymous ( a member) when he hacked her account and posted screen shots and her password. When he posted his confession, he lost the cover of being a member of Anonymous.
Now, the "white knight" Rubico was referring to was also a member of Anonymous.
If he stayed Anon, he may have not gotten caught.. now the SS have his moniker, it will be easy as pie to track him down.
I don't care to read the emails, but is there anything scandelous in them? I think it is an invasion of privacy. Now, if there is information regarding the ongoing investigation of her, then they would eventually come out, anyway. That is why I ask if the emails had any scandel involved.
Now, the judgement of using Yahoo to post ANYTHING private when you are a VP candidate is to be questioned. That is the only thing I see wrong of what she did.
The hackers should be prosecuted. This happens a lot - to more people than VP or other govt. officials.
There were confidential e-mails in the inbox. But the 'white knight' prevented them from being outed.
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/webs...-half-hac.htmlThe list contains several interesting-looking entries, including several from Palin's chief of staff Mike Nizich labeled "FW: CONFIDENTIAL Ethics Matter" and "RE: Request for Information and Documents," one by Palin aide Ivy Frye titled "veep talking pts" and a variety of others relating to judicial nominations, policy points and personnel and budget issues in the Alaska government.
That's BS if you say she deleted it to cover up troopergate. If they want the information from her yahoo account that data is easily recoverable. Just because something is "deleted" does not mean it isn't there. Same goes with your kiddie porn, Yarfunkle.
And I thought Anonymous just protested scientology?
She (they) deleted it from preventing even more sensitive information to become leaked.. damage control.. obvious, and standard procedure.
About Scientology and Anonymous.. it is a complex issue.
Much of 'Anon' supported the campaign against Scientology at the beginning. After a few months, much of the participants became bored of the same old protesting and law-abiding dissent.
The whole Scientology crusaders may call themselves "Anonymous", but they are merely a splinter cell of the Anonymous group that continue to try and derail the CoS.
It wasn't deleted directly because of troopergate, more of a preemptive damage control deletion.
I do know that it could be dug up by Yahoo!, if the information was subpoenaed by the courts.
Also, I'm not entirely convinced that the information would be inadmissible in courts. Isn't it admissible if a private party uncovered the e-mails? But if a public entity uncovered it, then it would be inadmissible.. right?
I think that the "damage control" was about the PUBLIC seeing it. The courts can get it if they want and it still would not necessarily get into the public's hands.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The FBI searched the residence of the son of a Democratic state lawmaker in Tennessee over the weekend looking for evidence linking the young man to the hacking of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's personal e-mail account, two law enforcement officials told The Associated Press on Monday.
The really sad part of this is that a crime was commited and the major point being hammered home by the media is that Palin shouldn't have used a Yahoo acct? It's similar to a cop telling you he's not going to help recover items stolen from your car because you left the car unlocked in your driveway.
