Armstrong is making a comeback...I might actually give a damn about cycling again.
I hope he wins # 8.

Some guys just don't know when to quit.
I have always supported Lance, but eventually some of the mud is going to stick and ruin everthing he worked for. The Frenchys have it out for him and I fear they will get him eventually.
Talk about a sport that has more problems than MLB....
Sheesh -

My Dad and I watched the last Tour and thought Lance would try to come back. It seriously looked like nobody wanted to win the thing.
lemond went off on him in a press conference today; there is a great deal of bad blood between the two of them; and i am afraid lance is probably in the wrong
In the wrong about what? Do you think he is a doper? If so, based on what?
I think LeMond comes off as a prick in his constant Lance bashing. He says he was doping because he had an association with a physician who advocated EPO... OK. However, since then he's claimed that Armstrong has threatened to destroy his business and kill him.
Armstrong has never been directly linked to drug use. One dirty test was dismissed after finding the exact same stuff in his approved medicine. 1999 seems to be the only year they even try to make a case for because after 1999 he was the most scrutinized rider in the tour. Even with the constant testing and oversight, he still dominated.
Pro cycling has done the best job of catching the cheaters. If the same level of scrutiny was applied to American team sports....well, it won't, because there is too much money involved.
I admit, this year's Tour was lackluster. Not even defending champ Contador and Leipheimer (3rd in '07) were allowed to participate. The superstars: Ullrich, Vinacourov, and others that competed with Armstrong and actually pushed Lance at times, have all left the sport. There are no stars of the sport right now.
Still, with the sport cleaning itself up, new stars will emerge. I like endurance sports like cycling. I do not watch or follow pro sports in this country anymore. I have not watched a single inning of major league baseball this season. Don't care to.
As for Armstrong's return. I have thought he'd make someone a great lieutenant. Can you imagine a young, strong Alberto Contador on the wheel of Armstrong on those tough climbs in the Alps! Could you have a better coach on the road with you than Lance Armstrong? I think not!
As for Lance trying to win #8, I don't see it. He is past his prime. Of course, he has defied the odds before....
One thing is sure, his return will make cycling more interesting.
The first salvo has been fired.

Ball's in Lance's court now.
Now Lance says he might not come back. This sort of makes him look guilty, even if he's not.

Lance says he might not be in the Tour. Says there is no sure bet on Astana being in the tour. Says the Giro presents itself.
In other news. He will have to be given an exemption from UCI rules to race the Tour Down Under. He will be a few weeks short of the minimum time for samples to be reviewed prior to being given his liscense. Maybe Cipo will lobby for him.
