(CNN)Backstreet Boy member Nick Carter has been accused by former pop singer Melissa Schuman of raping her 15 years ago.

Schuman shared the allegations in a detailed blog postearlier this month and tweeted a link to her story this week. In the post, Schuman wrote of an incident she said occurred when she was an 18-year-old member of the girl group Dream and Carter was 22.

(CNN)As a wave of stories unfold about sexual harassment and assault by men in power, a senior Democratic leader says her party should reflect on how it handled such charges when they were leveled against former President Bill Clinton.

"Not only did people look the other way, but they went after the women who came forward and accused him," says Kathleen Sebelius, the former secretary of Health and Human Services and Kansas governor. "And so it doubled down on not only bad behavior but abusive behavior. And then people attacked the victims."
Sebelius extended her criticism to Hillary Clinton, and the Clinton White House for what she called a strategy of dismissing and besmirching the women who stepped forward—a pattern she said is being repeated today by alleged perpetrators of sexual assault—saying that the criticism of the former first lady and Secretary of State was "absolutely" fair. Sebelius noted that the Clinton Administration's response was being imitated, adding that "you can watch that same pattern repeat, It needs to end. It needs to be over."

Yeah, that's the way it looks now, but that's only because the left has just now started to be exposed (and people have just started to care). They've been getting away with this forever, and for some reason they are not doing so now.


In the past you've had Bob Livingston, that guy tapping toes in the rest area toilet stalls (gross), that married guy professing to be a Christian who was caught with a man, Moore (if guilty, and there seems to be a pattern here), Roger Ailes, and Bill O'Reilly among others.

On the other side you had Al Gore with the massage lady, Billy the rapist and likely pedophile, John Edwards cheating on his dying wife while she ignored health concerns to campaign for the guy, Al Franken, John Conyers, and others in the media and government.

There is plenty of swamp on both sides of the aisle. I hope they make that slush fund public (won't that have to be published if requested under the FOIA?) and let the chips fall where they may. I also think they should not have us fund their health care, retirements or any of their other sweet benefits they get for public "service". They need to live by the rules they create.
