    QB Problems

Did anybody else notice that Bennett never seems to go to the second or third receiver. He takes the snap, looks at one guy and then turns it loose. He seemed to do that all night long.

I was screaming at the TV, "put Jenkins in, Bennett sucks" then I saw why they don't put Jenkins in more than they do.

On his second pass he stared down the receiver and instead of throwing an incompletion as Bennett normally does, he threw a perfect spiral to a linebacker standing between him and the receiver.

We have major QB problems and the're just going to get worse unless Bennett learns to stand in the pocket, quit being so scared of the least little pressure and look for secondary receivers.

I never thought I would say this but I wish Zach Champion was here instead of the current collection of Div II talent we have at QB.

This is my guess on his completion rate
    50% No Pressure
    35% Little Pressure
0% Heavy Pressure (run for your life or get sacked)

    Re: QB Problems

I have given Bennett the benefit of the doubt until now because he was always getting crushed. But last night, he had more time to throw than he has had all year. There were definitely some dropped balls that were easily catchable, but for every dropped ball there were 2 erratic throws. Right now he is the lesser of two evils, and I just hope he can manage the game well enough to squeak out a winning record. It's definitely possible with our schedule. Boise is really good.

    Re: QB Problems

Is anyone surprised by the QB mess. Please be reminded that Taylor Bennett never had a season at GT where he completed 50% of his passes. We are now 4 games into his season at LT and his dismal record remains intact. He is as unreliable as a condom with two hot patches and three laundry marks on it. Now there is a thought that garners up a world of confidence from his receivers.

After watching Jenkins in relief, it appears obvious why DD is so higly hesitant to move down his quarterback food chain. He does not have a single quarterback on his roster that could suit-up on any other team in the WAC--bar none. Don't even think about Grambling or ULM. Limiting our thoughts to the WAC will make it less painful.

Desperate times call for desperate action. Perhaps DD should beg every kid currently enrolled at LT that has ever played quarterback before to report to the practice field this afternoon for tryouts. There has to be someone on campus that can consistently throw the ball better than Bennett. If so, apparently they automatically beat out the rest of the QBs. Anybody can hand the ball off.

Why can't I get paid for these excellent ideas?

Wild Dawg formation. Like Nutt ran at Arkansas and now at Ole Miss. It worked for the Miami Dolphins against New England. With backs like Livas, Porter, and Jefferson it has to be better than what we have right now.

Bennett is the best we have. OBVIOUSLY, Ross is not, now we know why Jenkins didn't play last year either, the coaches know he isn't the man.

Bennett is no all-american by any means, I'm more upset about our offensive scheme, or lack there of. Why the hell don't we get Livas involved more?

Actually there were 7 bad throws and 5 Drops. Of the 5 drops 3 were for sure 1st downs and either took us out of scoring position or prevented a score all together. A holding brings another 1st down back and a scoring opportunity. Not to mention the 2 goal line penalites. And if you look close at the play that started Q4 TD attempt slant route ..it was P.I. subtle yes but P.I. nonetheless and on a tight timed play like that it slowed our recvr down by 1/2 step. ball was ahead of him by 1/2 step.

Kudos to the offensive line..they actully showed up last night. TB needed to stay in the pocket more for sure. end of Q3 we had 315 yrds and they had 345. The Coaches failed to get our guys excited after the failed TD attempt opening Q4. BAd Bad coaching !

The biggest two issues fall right smack on the coaches shoulders. These coaches get paid to make these guys believe in themselves and believe they can win ball games. The play calling is DEFEATINIG, CONSERVATIVE, PREDICATBLE and STUBBORN, it Kills morale.

The close of the 1st half is the joke that killed our guy's spirits. Granted our QB may not be putting the ball in the recvrs hands but he is not throwing interceptions either so why not, with 1:56 on the clock in Q2 and ball at midfld, take some throws and try to give our kicker a chance, instead OC decides on a rope a dope plan to end the half. Nice message!

Yeah, might as well try Ensminger(sp?) in a Wild Dawg, option or whatever. But who knows, the rb's may be like the wr's and can't catch a pitch.

They have no superstars on the team. We have PJ, Porter and Beck!
