    Wash. Post Endorses Obama

THE NOMINATING process this year produced two unusually talented and qualified presidential candidates. There are few public figures we have respected more over the years than Sen. John McCain. Yet it is without ambivalence that we endorse Sen. Barack Obama for president.

The paper also endorsed Kerry in 2004 and Gore in 2000. No surprise here. edited.. to add.. BTW I could care less what the NY Times, NY Post, Washington Times, Washington Post, ( put in any big city newspaper..) has to say about which candidate they are endorsing. Don't read em, don't care about those papers, amazed they are still in existence.

It would be hard to run a newspaper because opinion pieces are very dangerous, especially about politics. If you trule report news, it is supposed to be with an unbiased slant (although we know it is impossible to be totally unbiased). But, opinion pieces like this make you feel that they dont even care that they are biased. I guess it doesnt matter anymore, no news channels try to not be biased.

They're still in existence because obviously they have a large number of readers.

Newspaper endorsements have little effect on election outcomes. Prove otherwise.

Not saying they would determine the outcome.

But, on a related note, the Scholastic Election elected Obama, and the Scholastic election hasn't been wrong in 40 years.

Yeah, shocking that the Post is the most widely circulated, considering the DC metro area is about 75% liberal...

I'm 44 yo. and I rarely pick up a newspaper anymore. Most of my information I get via news radio, internet, or occasionally tv. Only time I read a newspaper is when I am waiting (usually in a waiting room) and there happens to be a newspaper lying around. It doesn't surprise me that Washington still has alot of subscribers.. most of those "older" people still read papers.. my age and ynger people are moving to other forms of media to get their news.
