I hope this group on facebook goes away. She deserves every punishment she gets, but every day it is still there I worry about it tarnishing the good name of our University.
Not the brightest move on her part. Hopefully this thing will go away quickly, both for the university's sake and hers.
You have an overly-simplistic view of world history, but that's okay.
As for the one-race issue...how do we know that it isn't God's wishes that we are ONE race? There is some evidence that supports the notion that ONE race is best for the peoples of this planet. How do we get there? Well, we could engage in all-out war and extermination of each other until only one race is left. But, that could takes months and cost millions of dollars (from Animal House), no, the better path is intermarriage. Think about it...well....look at the new Prez, he is a product of interracial reproduction and he's the greatest thing since sliced bread (or, so we are told).
Besides, some of the most gorgeous women I have ever seen are those from mixed marriages. It seems that the DNA gods smile kindly on those conceived from different races. I know some of you may be thinking, gee, Dawg80 has totally gone over the edge (some of you already think that), but as I say, there is evidence that supports my contention.
My understanding and knowledge is fine. I just didn't want to write a full book on it in a short post. I mentioned a few basics to make a point.
As for Dawg80's post of one race, I am great with interracial couples and blending, but I am, also, good with keeping a strong cultural identity. Each person is part of their culture and it is great when they embrace it. Without it, we would be one very boring world.
Jordan Mills on choosing Tech:
“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”
I think you guys are sadly mistaken about what our new government means. Talk of individualism as much as you want, but you have it backwards with the political parties. You have just been brainwashed to think otherwise.
Who is for lack of choice in abortions? Who is for lack of choice of whom you marry? Who stands for letting people live their lives as themselves?
Some Republicans are for freedom - only if it fits their definition of "right". Yes, the Democrats have their share of irony, as well, so I won't preach too much.
I think the last 8 years have been a prime example of the beginning of a police state, not the 8 years prior to that.
As for economic policy, it is different. Putting the money at the top and hoping it gets down to the middle class and poor working class is one theory and putting it in the hands of the working class and them spending is another. Let's give this a try, because the other obviously failed.
Now, don't think I am not a capitalist. I am. Seems to go against what some of you think about Democrats. I am for getting out there and making money - same as you. I am for a "fairly" free market, but not at the cost of hurting others with no regulations in place.
I am for some social programs - the ones that work. We need to overhaul our social programs and reform them. They have to have oversight. People are greedy and without oversight, it can quickly turn into what we just saw with Fannie and Freddie. I blame the Democrats for that, as much as the Republicans, so I am not pointing fingers.
All I will say is that if you keep an open mind, try to support our new President, and stop trying to find some big conspiracy theory of the direction we are heading, you may be surprised.
Well, I am in Corpus today and need to hit the road home. Catch up with all of you later.
Dang.. I feel bad for her. I know what she said was bad, but the creator of the group was just as classless (and probably just as racist). She might just go shoot herself now that 17% of Tech's student body, all of Grambling, and Facebook Global hate her. I hope she reports it to Facebook and gets the group removed soon.
ETA.. I just reported the group. If any of yall have FB access, I ask that ya'll do the same before this gets any more out of hand. I'm worried that something is gonna happen to her. When you report it, just select the "Attacks individual or group" option. This definitely violates the FB terms of use policy. Thank you.
ETA2.. I looked at the group creator's profile. He is a hypocrite! These are his favorite quotes:
"If you aint on that pill i cant f*ck you" CBC w/ Da Burb Niggaz
"Your bitch get this meat she'll never be the same"DWash
He uses the "N" word, and both quotes are sexist. No wonder he creating a group attacking a white girl.

Champ slavery was not about racism, racism was a by product of slavery and its abolition. Dont get the cause effect backwards. White people (along with Arabs and Asians) did not enslave black people because they were black. They enslaved them because they could. Africa was fractured and tribal, and many tribes sold other tribes up river for economic reasons. It was not until England and the US had a "moral revolution" of sorts that this practice was mostly stomped out across the world.
Slavery goes back a long, long time. Slave is derived from the word Slav, who were the some of the first people known to be enslaved. Slavery is not a black-white issue, you need to quit being emotional about it and look at the facts. It was a horrible thing and being as freedom loving as I am myself, i cannot imagine enslaving another human being. That being said, do not mistake why slavery took place. It had nothing to do with the color of skin.
We Irish folks were enslaved at one time. Started with the Romans, and then later by the English. Our patron saint, St. Patrick, was a slave in an English household until he ran away at the age of 13. He made his way to France, was taken in by some Catholic monks and he joined the Church. As an adult he went back to Ireland and campaigned for more rights and better treatment for Irish slaves. The English government did make some positive changes, but St. Patrick died before slavery was officially abolished and my people were set free!(early 4th Century) but he is remembered as a tireless advocate for the downtrodden Irish and thus a national hero to this day.
Point is, there aren't too many peoples that have escaped slavery at some point in their history. For the Irish it ended in the 4th century, for Africans it ended in the 19th century....but in both cases, END! it did. Time to move on, folks.
Good post.
FYI, In the United States before the Civil War these groups all owned slaves:
-White Southerners (1st state to abolish the slave trade was Maryland)
-White Northerners (1st state to legalize slavery was Massachusetts)
-Irish (the very few who could afford it, probably the only group treated as badly as blacks in the US were the Irish)
-Spanish
-French
-Native Americans (All 5 "civilized tribes" signed treaties with the Confederacy during the Civil War, and the last CSA General to surrender was Cherokee Stand Waite in June 1865)
-Free Blacks
-Dutch
-Hispanics
etc, etc, etc.
Every race was and is capable of enslaving people and being racist (which are not neccessarily the same thing, as was pointed out). This doesn't excuse any of it, but just points out that slavery wasn't a by-product of racism, but that racism was a by-product of slavery (in the US at least).
