It was already "known" the U.S. was spying. That official already "confirmed" is when he released those photos, and now it's just a continuation of "yeah, we're still doing it".
What is your fixation with hiding things that don't need to be hidden?
There's a huge difference to a nation between a satellite taking photos and a military drone flying over a sovereign country and it's capitol.
