Senator Zaxby Chambliss (R-GA) who just won reelection to the US Senate attended Louisiana Tech in the early 60's. He was a graduate of of C.E. Byrd H.S. in S'port. He completed his B.A. in 1966 at UGA.

Interesting. I graduated from HS in Georgia, turned down a scholarship to UGA, and graduated from La Tech in 1996. I was also in the opposite direction of Sen. Chambliss regarding the infamous bailout package.

As controversial as he is, I wouldn't be broadcasting that he is a Tech grad.

The thought did occur to me--and send shudders down my spine--when I realized that he and I seem to be fated to move in opposition. Incidentally, apparently he and his Dem opponent were fraternity brothers at UGA.
A senior official in Hamas is a Tech alum. We are well represented on both sides of the issue. :icon_wink:
