I like a good O Holy Night with a nice high "Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllll" in it. Johnny's choice would be in the running for me. Big fan of the choruses of Angels We Have Heard on High and Oh Come All Ye Faithful.

I'm having a hard time answering my own question.

My favorite and my suggestion for people to look up is "O Holy Night/O Come All ye Faithful" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Its an instrumental but the guitars absolutely sing.

I think she did a duet album with one of the typical J-Pop male singers that I hate as well. Maybe if Natsukawa Rimi did a Christmas album, it'd be decent.

I don't have a cd of any Japanese Christmas music. But we used to sing translated English (or German, or whatever) Christmas hymns or carols in Japanese. I have a Japanese hymnal with a Christmas section. Joy to the World is fun:

I know it's no place like home, but I sure did like the Christmas lights in Shinjuku. They had some nice ones near the Microsoft building that had an El Torrito Mexican restaurant in it, next to the Odakyu department store (attached to JR Shinjuku Station) there. I dunno if you've been there or know what I'm talking about, but I think I've got some pics of it at home on the laptop.
