...or to say this is Tech's forth Indy Bowl appearance. As Bill pointed out, most folks will read it and think it is the third bowl appearance. It could be that whoever wrote this does not know/care about sports facts prior to about 1985ish:icon_wink:. We've even had some of our BBB posters who don't think our first two Indy bowl teams were relevant.

I wouldn't go that far. They're just flunking Tech football history 101. I know of another state school whose fans don't know about anything prior to 2003.:icon_wink:

I'm not happy with Tech's Media Relations Dept for putting out such misleading crap. While the statement above that this will be only the "third bowl since joining Div 1A in 1989" is technically correct, it is very misleading. Tech was in Div 1A twice before 1989 and went to 2 1A bowl games in those periods. So the upcoming Indy Bowl will be Tech's fifth in Div 1A. There were also several bowls in lesser divisions, including an "on field" National Championship going through a true playoff system.

Cripes, you'd think our own medial relation dept could do a better job than this.

I had to put it aside today and get on with my Christmas business! I haven't actually lost sleep, because I just couldn't believe it would happen, but I will admit it has given me a few moments of stomach dropping anxiety when I thought of him leaving! :icon_wink:

I just want him to stay until we get where we need to be. That's all I want. It's been a long dry spell here at Tech Athletics and I have been enjoying the rain of good things happening the last two years. We've got a long way to go, and we need a man like Derek Dooley to help us continue down the road to building Louisiana Tech Athletics into what we should and could be. What we could have been already if not for...well...in the spirit of Christmas I won't go there!

And now that I have received MY Christmas present, it's time for me to go take care of everyone else's!
