i have little doubt dooley would agree to a larger buyout with a contract extension and a raise. as others have pointed out already, any team he's going to get hired away to can afford it, and it also increases what we have to pay him to fire him (in the college football coaching profession, any job security is a prized commodity). however, any contract he signs will have a declining buy-out. otherwise, what incentive does Tech have to extend his contract before the final year? also, 10 years is way too much for one winning season. i think a 3-year extension is about right, and the time is now.
