Champ?? Dawgmatic?? Where you at??? We need to add to our +/- game trophy case.
Bradshaw, Malone, P. Manning , Maravich
I'd probably go with Bill Russell or Shaq too. Eddie Robinson will definately be in, but he doesn't get my vote over any of the others I've mentioned.
LSU HOMERS..
Bad...
Why so many pick Shaq over Malone?
Malone was the better player. I guess titles?
Oh wait no Shaq went to LSU
I didn't know Lou Brock went to Southern. I wouldn't vote for him in this deal but he was a hell of a baseball player. Very under-rated.
Yeah we need to stuff the ballots to get our guys in there.
Bradshaw, Malone, Russell and Maravich -
Where is John David Crowe on the list - Cannon is NOT the only Heisman winner from the state!
I gotta go with Coach Rob, Russell, Maravich and then Bradshaw...with a shout out to Coach Barmore.
These guys either won more championships, games or changed the face of there sport. As much as I want to vote for Malone, he didn't do any of that.
Hey, I like Malone. I was in school with Karl, had a class or two with him (when he showed)..one of the nicest people I ever met while at Tech. What he changed was the way power forwards look like (he was a muscle man) and to a certain extent played...he was certainly the best running power forward of any era. No doubt he is one of the best to ever play the game, but he doesn't have the championships to back it up. Karl was great, but not in the Maravich way. When people saw Maravich play, they were awe struck with his ball handling, running the floor and shooting skills....I was. With Karl, he was dominating, but didn't really change the game....again, just my opinion. One example, Charles Barkley, who played in the same era, was a power forward at 6 ft 5inches. And he could run the floor as well as Karl, maybe not as long as Karl could, but he could run. I'd take either one of them if I was starting a team in the late 80's or early '90's.
For the record, Bradshaw didn't really change the QB position. And this coming from a guy who had Bradshaw all over his wall as a kid. Chuck Knoll wouldn't let him. He didn't throw the ball that much in the Steeler's offense, but he led the Steelers to 4 Super Bowl championships in 6 years. That has never been done before and probably won't be.
I'm gonna have to disagree with that. Jordan MADE the talent around him.
What happened to the "talent" when they lost Jordan?
Yeah, he had some good players, but Scottie Pippen was a slightly above average NBA player with no rings if it weren't for MJ.
I LOVE Karl and I wish he had won a couple of rings, but it can be argued that HE had more talent around him than Jordan did in those years. Stockton was UNREAL.
I'm no Tim Legler, but just my opinion.
I wonder how arguments are going at other parts of Louisiana and other parts of the country on the inclusions on each state's list.
