All that has been published so far are 18-30 percent for the fiscal year beginning July for higher ed. Also mention of TOPS losing some funding. It ain't good.

Yet! LSUS has announced the formation of two new sports, that they are confident will be funded: women's tennis and men's soccer.

Of course, let's create two MORE non-revenue sports to throw on the backs of taxpayers. What's a few coaching salaries to taxpayers carrying the weight of a $trillion TARP and stimulus package?*

*yeah, I know, I'm mixing state and federal programs here, who cares!? I'm making a point!

Now that's a cut that would make the university better and save it money at the same time.

For the rest of this year...

    -2.65 million in cuts

-no layoffs or cut in salaries

-all vacant positions were frozen (this saved over 1 mil. in salaries and benefits)

    -larger classes

    -conserved energy

In other news...Grambling has not announced how they would reduce 1.3 million yet.
