They have more transfers than our basketball team.

I'm sure they just didn't like the weather.
Memphis and UAB aren't too bright for utilizing this recruiting strategy.
I guess we shall see
My opinion is that I prefer Coach Dooley's approach getting us local high school recruits that he can mold into his system and has the long term base to build on. Some of the jucos willl be good, no doubt in my mind, but it just seems like it may take them more time to assimilate into the program and may not be really effective until their second year at Tech and then they are potentially gone. I have seen this debated on the board many times and most folks seem to prefer the high school recruits for building the long term program.
There are likely some other factors as well not even relating to football. Spending four years at Tech and getting the full college experience and enjoying it and being involved in different programs seems to do a lot for student's continuity. Not meaning to degrade Juco experience at all or their possible impact they can bring but there is something special spending all four years getting their degree from a single institution, networking, knowing the professors and staff, bonding with the university early on are a big bonus.
I'm fairly confident that I'm not your father. Fall of '65 was not an overly active time for me in the baby making department.
I'm not setting you up. I actually agree with you. But I think I remember hearing about SJ going heavy on JCs recently and they have kind of pulled themselves up some.
I may be getting too obvious in my leading questions.
