The country *did* hold the government responsible. That is why the switchover in 2006 and 2008 happened. If they're so upset about what Obama and Congress are doing, they have another shot to hold government responsible in 2010 and 2012.

I'm only ok with the "idea" of the federal control because the companies asked for the bailouts. I am against the idea of the bailouts though. Let those suckers FLOP.

No, I'm saying the majority can be wrong. The majority was wrong on the AIG bonuses (which were legal contracts with an employer and it's employees, backed by the authority of Obama's spending bill). The majority was outraged about it, and the government unconstitutionally proposed to tax these private citizens at 90% to pacify the mob. Fortunately, the mob has died down and it appears to courts may end up overruling this proposed legislation.
