I believe in giving a coach enough time as well. But, 2 to 3 yrs is long enough to show some progress, and so far, we're not seeing much progress.

No worries. If Rupp doesn't win alot more games in year 3, Dooley will see to it that he doesn't get a year 4. Unlike you, Dooley isn't afraid to make a decision. He proved that with the Chris Long firing. :icon_wink:

I think as long as the team gets better it won't be a firing. I understand the hype... isn't that marketing? That's what they're supposed to do! As far as the close losses, i agree losing consistently by such small margins is mostly a coaching fault... but if he doesn't get more W's next year, i have a feeling he'll be gone. But then again, i sure know absolutely no one inside.

All you've proven is that your prognostication skills aren't up to snuff. This team has won almost twice as many games as last season's team and they've done it without a PG. Yes, I know everyone loves to talk about the skill we have. It reminds me of football when we make predictions based on recruiting classes. Sometimes we're right, but most of the times we overestimate the players skill to make us feel better. The one possibly valid knock on this staff is that they were too ready to gamble on transfers and they missed some character issues that have adversely affected this team. That, I can buy. Claims that we suck because we don't have enough kids from North Louisiana, I don't buy.

Further, your claim that the results will be the same in a few years is just your opinion and projection, and we've already seen that projections aren't your forte. :icon_wink:

Colville, we always get irritated with losses. We were in meltdown mode during football season after the Army loss. I think it's the nature of all internet fan message boards. When fans get frustrated, they vent.

This is the important part to note, Colville. I have no clue as to your previous experience with message boards - particularly sports-centric ones - and their inhabitants, but suffice it to say that they tend to attract the more....eh....exciteable (albeit usually passionate) members of fan bases.

It's really similar to physically walking out of a game after a loss. You'll hear a lot of upset people wailing and teeth knashing and generally hailing the apocolypse, some who search for perspective, and some who sugarcoat everything to no end. The same dynamic exists here on "teh intarwebs", the major difference being that all are given equal grounds for making that opinion heard, however nonsensical it may be or how much in the minority it exists.

You think it's bad here, do some cyber-trekking to major BCS conference message boards (especially ones going through turmoil in a program) and get back to me. :icon_wink:

Im not saying we are a team that should definitely make the tournament, but there is talent on this team. We certainly should not be the WAC's doormat. There are enough players on this team to be in the hunt for the top of the conference. That is what scares me, while the cupboard is not full, it sure the heck isnt bare.

I have seen no player development at all. That is coaching!!!!!!!

I think the 2 pt loss was an abberition (sp?), in reality this was a double digit loss - NMST went to sleep, but atleast we were smart enough to take advantage of it - and one of these days that shot will fall for Kyle -

I was worried about this game - of all the teams in the WAC, this is our worst match-up personnel wise -

I thought Guyton and Gipson kept us in the ballgame for most of the first half until Loe and Behre basically let it get away from them - this ballgame was lost from the 5 minute remaining mark of the first half to the 9 minute mark of the second half - the 19-3 run buried them

When the Aggies got some run outs and upped the tempo it spelled the beginning of the end -

We should not have lost those players if the coach could manage his players and if he can't manage them then he should not sign them. That is part of the coaching.

When you played football, didn't we have a defensive lineman that had to sit out the I Bowl because Coach Peace couldn't manage him? There are those that say we would have won that game if he had been able to play?

You have Skill and me confused. I'm the ambulance chaser ... at least on occasion, assuming you mean I represent people on a contingency when they have been badly hurt by the fault of another and that other refuses to pitch in. Skill is an oil and gas man ... mostly gas. :icon_wink:

Now, Michael, this is your second challenge for a duel this week. I have no interest in seeing the first. It would be over in miinutes, nay, seconds. However, I would be interested in this one. In my younger days, I used to fight a LOT. You get to know those guys that bark, but can't fight a lick. On the other hand, you have those kind who never want to fight, but they get that crazed look when they get angry. Those are the kind that try to gouge eyes and bite chunks out of arms and stuff like that. Skill has that look when he gets angry. Although athletically, you should kick Skill's arse, I might like to see that fight.
