Okay, what gives? The News Star did not have an article about our win over Houston Baptist in basketball the morning after. This morning (Saturday), they did not have an article about the Tech Grambling baseball game on Friday night. Neither one of the games ran late. Is Ruston to far for a reporter to drive over?

Isn't that par for the course? Either no recognition or a back handed slant on a win is usually the norm. That is why I boycot unless the article is a real news article without spin against TECH.

How about the Shreveport Times?
I'm still waiting for them to add a Tech tab to their sports pages. The "outdoors" tab has only one article. I think it's a shame that our stuff gets lumped into the general "college sports" tab and LSU gets their own.

Saw a story on the local news last night that was touting the RDL for their success and pointing to the recent demise of the Gannett bunch. According to the RDL publisher the secret of their success is to focus on (ready for this?)...LOCAL NEWS!

I can vouch for this as well. Last year during baseball season it was 9:30 p.m.
No way to have a decent story done by then for a 7:00 basketball game or a 6:00 baseball game, neither of which is likely to end before 9:00.
Then again, there's no deadline for a web site.

The deadlines certainly don't affect Letlow's ability to crank out some coverage. The guy's almost as prolific as Guilbeau for Lspoo and that's saying something. Can't we get a student worker to cover these games, or is Malcolm doing it?
Malcolm doesnt do baseball, he is still with the techsters.
If only he had been raised like bluecollar, he'd be doing both.
There are four people in the sports information office, Malcolm doesn't cover all 16 sports. The same story that goes on latechsports.com is sent out immediately after the game to every media outlet in the state. There is a story written by a sports information staff person about every single athletic event that takes place at Louisiana Tech, and every media outlet in the state gets a copy of it. What they choose to do with it is their business.
VolDawg . . . it's football offseason. Nobody cares about what a great, consistent job done by our media relations folks.
