Not much mention of the Lady Techsters on the board since they have not played at home for awhile. With an 11-8 record, they seem to be doing very well against the 'good' teams and still struggling against the ranked teams (ULL, Baylor, etc). We have not played any pushovers--a much stronger schedule than last year.
The Techsters have a big game Sunday against No. 25 Texas A&M as well as a second game against Stephen F. Austin. Tech has a 3-game streak going with 2 wins against Southeastern Wednesday and one Friday over SFA.
Amberly Waits has to be near the top of Div. 1 hitters with a .511 batting average. A grand slam homerun Wednesday. Jessica Kirby had a 3-run HR Friday. Hitting is improving as we near conference play. Heather Dioron, Claire Gibson and Emma Barnes have picked it up at the plate. Meghan Krieg continues to overpower batters with a 0.72 ERA.
Congratulations to senior centerfielder Emma Barnes who graduates today.
Things are looking good.

thanks for the update.
Both games Sunday will be on game tracker with free video streaming available for the A&M game.
The Lady Techsters are 11-8, but the WAC official site incorrectly lists them at 9-10. With each of the Techsters wins they keep updating their incorrect record.
Thanks Doc. Message sent and the WAC made the correction within 20 minutes.

12-9 now after a win over SFA and loss to A&M today.
Anything wierd going on with Krissi Oliver...she's off to a sluggish start at 4-7...given the way she pitched towards the end of the season last year, I was expecting the same, if not better, results from her this year...hope shes able to right the ship before conference play starts...
Is she getting the run support? I know the problem with Fresno is we lost almost 150 RBIs from last years squad (3 seniors + Ortega blew her ACL I think). Morgan Melloh (all eveything last year) should have another 3 or 4 wins if we can just hit the ball. She is 7-6 ( I think, I havent checked stats in a while) now with the W over #9 Cal
Why is a WAC school allowed to play DII and NAIA schools in the regular season?
If you're referring to Boise State, it's their first year playing softball and Idaho State is the only other D-1 school in the state that also plays softball. If you want to play any home games in non-conference, you've got to find them where you can; kinda tough when no one within a half-day's drive plays softball.
