It is not filling up. The dam has not been completed yet, so it is just flowing out the Northwest corner. It appears that they have a little work left to complete the pump house and they will not finish the dam until the pump is up and running.

Apparently they have some new issues to deal with on the southern end. They closed the road Monday because a large portion of it looks like it is ready to cave in up above the pedistrian bridge. The bridge itself did have a large section of the pathway collapse and there is a significant amount of erosion all around the base of the bridge that was built in 2002.

Haven't been by there in a couple of days, but if for some reason the road is re-opened I would not recommend driving on it. A 50 foot section has dropped a couple of inches below the level of the adjoining road bed. This section directly corresponds with the pedestrian bridge that runs over the underground creek that is feeding the pond.

    Re: Lake Reneau

My tailgate spot is the first spot by the road which means it is close to the cave-in spot. Is it going to be safe for a bunch of old, overweight Tech fans to park their fat butts before the game?

I guess this also means the football team won't cruise by on the way to the fieldhouse. The band marching through will cause some stress given the girth of some of the members and the increase in numbers of tubas.
