Depends on how close to the lake they leave some trees.

I'm not super-excited about the lake. From what I was told, it's sole reason for existing is for an irrigation source for the campus. I may be very wrong, but I doubt it will be embraced as a recreation area by the administration.

Tech Farm is also supposed to use it to breed water moccasins.

Tech farm does a great job of breeding water moccasins already. one of my most heroic moments of my college days was killing one as long as me with a rotten pecan branch.

have you never been to the pond at Tech farm? had a survey class out there years ago with Calvin Lemke and I promise ya, it has a healty population of Cotton Mouths.

You mean the little ponds up behind the TF Store, or down on the actual farm?

My kids and father-in-law have hung out around the ponds behind the store most days for the better part of 4 years now. We've seen tons of turtles and an alligator or two, but (thankfully) no snakes of any variety.

I know they are there once in a while but I never saw a gator during my time in N. La.
