It could be sweet revenge for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in the first round of the 2009 WAC Tournament in the Lawlor Events Center as the Dunkin' Dawgs will get a shot at the Idaho Vandals; the team that snapped their four-game winning streak to end the regular season 66-58. Idaho and Tech split the regular season with the home team winning both times. It will be the first time the Vandals and the Bulldogs will have played in the WAC Tournament.

The game is scheduled for Thursday, March 12, at 10:30 p.m. CST. The game will be broadcast live by KXKZ 107.5 FM with a live audio stream available at www.z1075fm.com. WAC.tv will also provide a video feed of the game for a fee at www.wacsports.com.

The winner of LA Tech/Idaho plays the winner of Nevada/San Jose State on Friday, March 13, 11:00 p.m. CST on ESPN2.

I believe we split with Idaho. In any event, this is a decent matchup for us, I think. Much better than drawing USU or Nevada first round, at least.

It's easier to get a draw like that when the conference is weak. Idaho as the WAC #3 ?? ....Down year for the WAC.

What will our team need to do to win this game? We just played them last week and lost. Our two post players (Rolle and Olu) got into foul troubles early and didn't contribute much the whole game.
We stayed close in that game thanks to KG. What is the potential game plan that Rupp would have for this game?

1) Control the boards
2) Get to the line and make the freebies
3) Limit turnovers to 14 or less

If I were Rupp, I would consider going "big" with them (starting Rolle, Oliverson, and Gibson) and letting KG bring the ball up.

That said, I think we can beat them with just a little more production in the blocks. In fact, I think we have a better team than them.

Keep in mind that Tech beat the Vandals w/out either of their post players playing at 100% in Ruston. Augusto didn't play and Jefferson played very sparringly as he was coming off of a concussion. I think it will be another battle, but Idaho will win.
