    Houston Baptist

Dawgs trail early 2-0. 1 out in the bottom of the first PT on third Winn batting.
Winn sac flies to score PT 2-1 HB leads, 2 outs.
    Dageford walks
    Williams walks
Kersten hits a bloop double and one run scores to tie the game at 2.
Stubbs walks to load the bases
Combs walks and a run scores to make it 3-2 Tech. Lots of walks for the HB pitcher
Threkeld singles to make it 5-2 Dawgs, but Combs is thrown out trying to take third. A lot of runs, seven after only the first inning.

    Re: Houston Baptist

Dawgs turn a double play to end the top of the 2nd. 5-2 Dawgs still lead going to the bottom of the inning.
PT lines out for the first out
Grunenwald reaches third on a throwing error by the pitcher
    Winn K's
Dageford flies out to the wall, end of the second.
    Start of the third

    Williams grounds out
    Kersten pops out
    Stubbs doubles down the line
    Combs pops out

Houston Baptist homers in the top of the fourth to make it 5-4 Tech.

    Re: Houston Baptist

Runners on first and third no outs in the bottom of the fourth, Grunenwald coming to bat.
Grunenwald rbi singles to make it 6-4 LA Tech
    Winn homers!!! 9-4 Dawgs!!
Combs batting with two outs and runners on second and third.
Error by the catcher gives Tech a 10-4 lead.

That was a pretty nice win, but we still have a lot of errors. We should still sweep the hapless Huskies this weekend though.

    Re: Houston Baptist- Game 2

Game 2: Top of the 2nd and Moseley struck out the side 1-2-3. In the bottom of the 2nd freshman Alex Williams hits his first Louisiana Tech career HOMERUN!
    Tech 1 - HBU 0

4th inning: Homerun HBU. The batter was Jonathan Moore, son of the Texas Rangers batting coach.
    Tech 1 - HBU 1

Chris Kersten doubles to drive in Dageford from first base..., Stubbs hit by pitch... Ewing strikes out again with runners on base... Hughes grounds out to 1st, inning over.
    Tech 2 - HBU 1

These squandered base runners are coming back to bite us! Our only hitters through 4 innings are Williams (HR) and Kersten. 5th inning another homerun HBU.

Patrick Thomas singles, sac'd over to 2nd, steals 3rd, but gets left on base- another oportunity wasted. Moseley is getting no support by our offense. 5 Tech batters have struck out against a pitcher with a 15.95 ERA and 0-1 record.
    Tech 2 - HBU 2

Top of 7th, Bradshaw relieves Moseley. Moseley gets no decision after striking out 5 and walking none. Bradshaw walks a batter, walks another, hits a runner to put them on 1st and 3rd. Coach Sim calls timeout and talks to almost the whole field at the mound. Then Bradshaw strikes out a batter, but Ewing (error) passes the ball and the 3rd base runner scores!!!!
    Tech 2 - HBU 3

Bottom 7th- Ford singles, Hughes Ks, Thomas singles, Grunenwald walks, Winn singles... Fly out, fly out.
    Tech 5 - HBU 3

Top of 8th- Jones relieves Bradshaw (who walked 4 batters). Jones walks batter, and walks another- bases loaded up with NOBODY out. Base hit HBU, strikeout, DOUBLE PLAY.
Bottom 8th- Tech batters up and down in order. !!!!!
    Tech 5 - HBU 4

    Re: Houston Baptist

    Homerun HBU...
    Tech 5 - HBU 6

Roliard's strikeout was a foul tip not held by the catcher. Inning still not over. Roliard finishes the strikeout.

Will our bats finally show up today or will HBU (1-16) win their second game of the year?

    Re: Houston Baptist

Way to go Winn and Dageford!
    Tech wins 8 - 6.

If we don't pound out at least 15-20 hits tomorrow (before the 7th inning) we need batting changes!!!

Freshman Kyle Roliard gets the win to improve to 3-0.

First time I have gotten to see Casey pitch at Tech and this was only on
tech TV, which would not open for me until Casey was already in for batter or two.
I had talked to his dad earlier and told him I would try to watch the game on tech tv. Casey struggled and left the game.
    I must have jinxed CASEY.
Maybe I should stay off Tech TV. It was a good game and I am thrilled we won.

Jonathan Moore is the son of Texas Rangers coach Rudy Jarramillo ? You must be referring to a minor league hitting coach?

I misunderstood Dave. He is the son of Texas Rangers Bench Coach Jackie Moore.

I also wanted to mention that Winn has a 24 game hit streak. He now has the longest hitting streak in Tech history. I don't want to jinx him, so I knocked on wood before I posted this. Congrats K-Dub!

See link to video below . . .

Roliard's strikeout was a foul tip not held by the catcher. Inning still not over. Roliard finishes the strikeout.
(Catcher caught the tip . . but it hit the ground first. 1B ump granted the appeal).
