NCAA first round: Barmore designee head coach vs UTSA

Mulkey is in the hospital with a kidney stone situation and Leon Barmore is the designee head coach for the Lady Bears right now. I don't have all the information with Kim but lets pray for our former Lady Techster.

But as far as the game, it's in overtime and #15 UTSA (University of Texas-San Antonio) are in overtime right now with the #2 seed Lady Bears.

The Baylor Lady Bears squeaked out an 87-82 overtime win #15 seed UTSA today. Leon Barmore was the designee head coach for Baylor since Kim is in the hospital with a kidney stone situation.

Oklahoma really struggled in their 1st round, as well, against a 16 seed. They were able to pull it together in the second half, though. Texas lost. Looks like the B12 isn't near as strong as some people think. Let's see how A&M does tonight when they play SDSU, who upset Big East Notre Dame on Notre Dame's home court. I love to watch these non power conference teams win. Baylor might have a very tough time in the second round.

We posted when Coach Woolridge had surgery a few years back. I think this is much more relevant than that, although that was certainly of interest. We also have discussed McConathy's exploit in your hometown. Should we ban all NwSU talk, too? Barmore and Mulkey are still Tech alumni, and their current endeavors are therefore relevant for discussion on a Tech board. Even if they were not Tech alumni, their legendary status would justify a thread in a WBB forum.

Yes, SDSU is a very tough opponent that a lot of teams around the country know nothing about. South Dakota State made 16 3's in the first game vs TCU to tie an NCAA game record. Iowa State also tied the first in their first round NCAA game.

McConathy and Floyd were NEVER OFFERED by Tech . . . therefore didn't leave a Tech coaching position.

I didn't mind this thread, although it wasn't because of Mulkey or Barmore. I liked the Tennessee upset thread, as well. I think reading about upsets and "almost upsets" is interesting. I could care less if Mulkey wins in this next round. In fact, I would rather she lose, so we don't have to talk about her anymore this year.
