Hey TeaTech, if the US government voted to kick Texas out of the Union, would you support revolt in order to keep this great nation intact?

If I would have saw the last answer, I would have voted for that, instead, in my hurrying, I choose the worse one.

Except #4. That has everything to do with Federal regulation unless the city or county or state has chosen to have more stringent guidelines. I know a few years ago, Baton Rouge was on the verge of some serious fines and/or withheld monies, I think, from the Feds because the emmissions were too high by the Feds standards.

    Completely ridiculous line of reasoning.

Religious fundamentalists are MUCH more likely to try to legislate their beliefs than non-fundamentalists. Taking religion out of government DOES NOT have ANY effect on individual religious freedom. However, legislating religious beliefs about gambling, drinking, etc DOES affect those who do not follow such strict religious beliefs.

Just admit the double standard and quit trying to justify it. It exists, it's there, it's pretty damn obvious.
Why can't Christians try to legislate their beliefs? Is it simply because we follow a religious worldviews? Nobody complains when everybody else who have different worldviews try to legislate their beliefs onto Christians. The last I checked, United States Christians are citizens and have every right to try to get their beliefs legislated just like the Satanists, Wiccans, atheists, etc...

And the interesting thing with Baton Rouge is that a significant amount of their emissions problems are actually from Houston ... or at least that is the claim.

Because legislating religious beliefs on others infringes on their personal rights. I don't want the pentecostals to legislate everybody into wearing blue jean skirts. ugh.

Not saying I disagree about not wanting to have to wear blue jean skirts but I think you are missing DD's point.

Not really. Men will be judged by God's law. You can't force it on them. Our laws should be to protect us from each other's dangerous activities.
