Sim is our best bet for the next five years - and any change might be detrimental to ANY strides we have taken. And you have to admit, things at JC Love are MUCH better than they were before he got here. Just look around.

To DEMAND a regional team without being in the trenches and understanding the roadblocks in this underfunded sport is unrealistic. We spend so much out of the total budget on travel that other areas (recruiting) have to slide. ANd too, our conference foes spend more on the sport than we do, which, in the end, IS a factor when we guage Simms teams against those and against those of another coach who would follow him if he were replaced. The names would change, the results would be the same.

The only way we can move UP is to luck out with some franchise players and have someone die and leave his fortune to BASEBALL.

    ANY TAKERS???

    GO DOGS!
When are some of you going to stop judging SIM according to how the facilities look. Look the man had the most talented lineup of his dreams last year and absolutely tanked. It's not the excuse of recruiting. ULL and ULM are putting out better products than us. Hell Mcneese is putting out a better product than us. Let SIM be Tech's landscape designer if that is all you want is a nice ballpark.

The Catch-22 we are in is this:

The WAC is the BEST conference for us to be in for football.

The WAC is the WORST conference for us to be in for men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, track, well everything else...

Football for better or worse dictates the conference we are to be in, so the other sports have to follow football.

This isn't necessarily true. The WAC pays us more than most regiona conferences would. It even offsets the travel money we spend.

Depends on if you are judging by money or competition. For competition, the WAC is really a good fit for us in most sports, but especially in football, MBB, softball, and track.

Sim did good in 07. We were supposed to be even better in 08. I guess more recruiting budget could have had more talent on the 08 team to flop?

We do need more funding though. Who can we afford to hire if we boot Sim?

More talent in '08? I assume you meant that in jest? We had at least 6 players drafted from that squad (Cobb, Goulder, Burnett, Jones, Knotts, Moseley). Apparently scouts saw talent or potential that our coaches could not fully realize.

Credit where credit's due...great job to ULM! They are red hot right now...just wish their fans realized what they have. althought they drew a good crowd for State.

Yeah, I had to read Ken's post a couple of times before I realized his point. It does make one scratch the ol' noggin when you have 6 players drafted from a team that couldn't make the cut for the playoffs they were hosting at home.

I can't remember who said it but "you can lose with great players; but you can't win without them" comes to mind.
