The vast majority of these "common folk" have not individually experienced any mysterious/meritorious "trickle down" IMPROVEMENT in their personal lives. They were REPEATEDLY informed by politicians and the 4th estate that THEIR national economy was chugging along quite nicely toward a bright beacon at the end of a little george financial tunnel. But before they were able to afford "a ticket to ride" this GOP gravy train, they learned the knave king had kneaded a RECESSION rather than ripe riches, AND ONCE AGAIN, they could expect things to get worse before anything

So you're saying his approval rating is high because he's passing out money to poor people? I wasn't aware of the handouts....

And Bush did hand out tax refunds to everyone last year. I didn't see a vast jump from all those poor changing their minds for pocket money.


Keep in mind...the bottom 50% of taxpayers constitute less than 3% of federal income tax revenues. The top 5% contribute about 80% of the total income tax revenues.

I never come into this political forum because I get fighting mad when I read some of the misinformed posts that end up here. Unfortunately, for you guys I have nothing else to do right now.

I have to respond to some of the comments about "little george's" illegal war in Iraq. I always hear people make comments condemning the war and the decision to go to Iraq and I can never comprehend why people had a problem with it. It was legal by the way, resolution 678 gave the US the authority to go back into Iraq.

Fact....Sadaam Hussein will go down in history with the likes of Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler for the many crimes against humanity that were committed by him or his henchman.

I would like to list a few for you to think about next time your bashing the previous administration at your next drum circle.

• Sadaam had an acid pool installed at one of his palaces. He would take his political enemies there, hang them by there hair and dip them into the pool. According to one of his generals Sadaam would smoke a cigar and laugh while this was going on.

• In July of 1982, several Shiite militants attempted to assassinate Saddam Hussein while he was riding through the city. Hussein responded by ordering the slaughter of some 148 residents, including dozens of children.

• Masoud Barzani led the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), an ethnic Kurdish revolutionary group fighting Baathist oppression. After Barzani cast his lot with the Iranians in the Iran-Iraq War, Hussein had some 8,000 members of Barzani's clan, including hundreds of women and children, abducted. It is assumed that most were slaughtered; thousands have been discovered in mass graves in southern Iraq.
